both of those shifters are great as far as the base goes, the handle is what sets them apart... the pro 5.0 handle is EXTREMLY short and kind of hard to reach for... you could give it a shot and alwasy go with a steeda handle on it as some do... or just buy the steeda shifter all together.
the steeda handle is a little taller and comes back more, much better for reach and daily driving.
fox bodies seem to like the pro 5.0 more due to the shifter/driver relation.
check sponsors, and one more thing, steeda will make your knob HOT if its metal so just an FYI and it will make noise if you install the little ring on the base, you will see.

any problems yet, becuase i am also debatin between a Tri-Ax or Pro 5.0. From what i read, the Tri-Ax is better for Daily driver, which i am. I plan on most likely getting the Tri-Ax, but just wanted to know what you thought of it.
i have a question about gears and GTs because i dont know much about GTs. when you get gears do you need to correct the speedo via chip or what do you have to do?
not if you have a XX - XX year auto or any year manual you can install a speedcal as me and brent (and you can also kyle) have. They are a snap to install and WORK GREAT, you can spec em for ANY size wheel/tire/gear so you get a 100% accurate reading, thus you can run a taller/smaller etc wheel/tire combo (out of stock spec)
but if you cant install one of those then you gots to get a chip
ive heard nothing but good about steeda. i have a mac though :
