So with my mustang, I want the rear tires to stick out. Its a 2001 and the rims are 16". The front tires are 16, but the back are 17. However, I want the rear ones wider. How can I get them to stick out from the car, but not buy new rims? How wide can I get them on these stock rims? Could wheel spacers work along with a wider tire? And could I buy 275/55/17 tires and put them on?
Well if you want wide then new wheels are the best bet. Stock 17X8s can safely mount a 255/40 and if you feel like pushing it then you could try a 274/40. 275/55 is absolutely ridiculous though. That would be a gigantic sidewall. Or you can try some spacers to help kick the wheels out further. I just went with new wheels and some 315s.
