Ok here's a thread that you 4.6 vs 5.0 guys can go at each other's throats all day long without derailing other threads.

I'll start

2v rules the world

GO!

I don't count the Mystichrome because having one means you have to be a nut about the paint and I'd probably lose my ******* mind if I was ever driving one and got behind a dumptruck but I would LOVE to go into my garage and see one in there and just stare at it.

Can I just say it's really annoying when kids say well my car will make blah blah rwhp WHEN my mods are done that I don't even own yet. Ya my car will make 100000000000000rwhp when my not owned mods are in. I hope your motor fails you for all the crap u presume it will do/make. Ya you know who you are.
Otherwise, I don't get the whole money debate here, ya u can get a 4.6 on the cheap, hell even 4.6 2010 dropped.... Wonder why, lemme think.....
Oh ya cuzz the 5.0 is far superior. Done :)

Not sure who you are referring to , but if it's me my BLOWER has already been purchased I just don't drive my mustang in the winter to keep her MINT.
And if I run into a 5.0 next year when the weather is nice and I pull her out of my garage I will laugh ...... with the upgrades I have purchased and sitting in my living room I will make close to 600 HP bye bye 5.0. And like I said before I could buy a 2014 GT but to be honest I really don't like the styling.

Except you still get 2010 and late 2000s owners wanting KBB for their cars. No I will not pay $19k for your 2009 GT Premium when a 5.0 is only a few $thousand more.

As for the paper horsepower kids... they're pretty much just trolls IRL. Anything you do besides ignoring the troll feeds the troll and even then...

It's stupid to compare the 4.6 n 5.0 MOD FOR MOD.

One engine is smaller so obviously it will not win mod 4 mod dummies!

It's more than that though. You also have to factor in compression ratio and technology. The 5.0 isn't exactly a low compression motor like the 4.6 is (relatively). However if I had to choose I would go with a Coyote in my car. There's no way you're getting a 7500rpm (potential) redline out of a 4.6 from the factory. Gladiatoro does have a valid point that his boosted 4.6 will put up a good fight with a new 5.0, it's also a BOOSTED 4.6 being compared to a N/A 5.0... Not much of a comparison when you have to throw $6K (when buying new) just to get on the same level. But then again this whole argument is much more suited for Terminators Vs. 5.0s instead of the whole 4.6 factory line against a base 5.0

I love a great debate as much as anyone but in the realm of the universe what does it matter. Both are reallyneed cool, great engines and in the end, it really doesn't matter. Its metal pieces. :) The new 5.0 engine is just an upgraded more advanced version of the 4.6. No shame in that and doesn't make the 4.6 crap, just less advanced. Its evolution. In 15 years the current 5.0 will be what today's 4.6 engine is. The less superior motor and less power. Its evolution and technology.

Ford was installing supercharger kits on the 2011 when they came out WITH WARRANTIES that pushed 600hp so that is what it is. I think they still do it. Regardless I would not run a 4.6L above 425ish whp because I would like it to last awhile. I've seen the carnage from when a rod lets go and the rods in these motors are suspect at best. Modular weak point is the rods, pushrods is the block, modular wins that battle espeically with the Boss rods dropping right in at $20/rod lol. Obviously its not just $160 and go but you get the idea vs a $2500 DART block that also adds a ton of weight to the nose of the car.

As for the Terminator, yes Manley rods and the reason for Manley rods was... the stock powdered rods kept blowing on the test engines and SVT had to do some major convincing to get the accountants to accept $50 per rod vs about $1 per rod (Ford's cost). The pistons are actually the weak point in the Termi and also limit it "safely" to about 600-700hp although you'll hear plenty of ppl going over that with success.

And again, if we are just going by comparison of engines it isn't even an argument. The Coyote is in another universe plain and simple. Just on a design standpoint alone and what it can do with a measly 302 cubes. With money and mods and the platform... it gets vague and all boils down to what you like.

I'll still take a Terminator over anything simply because its "The Terminator" and they are also going up in value the older they get as long as you keep the miles off. They're going to go down as one of the greatest Mustangs of all time, maybe the greatest. I mean it killed the Camaro ffs.

Similar to our 525 HP kit with the E-force, this system comes complete with JDM Custom Tuning by James D'Amore using the SCT XCAL3 Flash Device, Edebrock Cold air intake 15808, and NGK spark plugs. This time around the kit comes with larger 60lb injectors instead of the 39LB and the GT500 Ford Racing Fuel System M-9407-GT05 which supplies all the fuel to the engine that it will need while running 12 psi boost with the 3.25” pulley.

The addition of these components raises the power level of the Supercharger to 600 HP at the engine! This is the most you want to put through your stock motor internals. If you chose to forget your motor or go with a Team JDM 302E 3V Short Block you can raise the boost levels on this supercharger kit to over 17 psi, making over 700 HP!

;)

So true, I was about to bring up the Wiseco, but that's a 5.0 upgraded to a 5.8

#310 ·
I like how the modular block can take up to like 1000hp while the OLD 5.0 can take like 450-500hp.

So you just get some forged pistons/rods on a 4.6 and your good to go!

#321 ·
I know my Teksid is good for well over 1000hp if I ever got a wild hair up my ass to do that sort of build which I don't see happening.

#322 ·
So is the 5.0 with proper mods

#328 ·
I know he meant the Coyote, that's why I said ALL the 96-later blocks meaning the current run of engines included.

#336 ·
That really was intended as a joke.

And somewhat ended, I need some sleep.
