New fuel line I bought for my 68' appears to be the same as original on right.....but I think the inside diameter of new hose is smaller..Or just less pliable...Any suggestions on how to stretch it? Just long enough to get it over fuel tank/ fuel line ????
Thanks

3/8" vs 5/16"? I think 68 uses 3/8. If that's what you have, using a little fuel as lube to slip it on might help. Might also help to warm it up a little. Nothing drastic, but maybe leave it in the sun for a little bit.
Measured hard fuel line, it's 5/16" inside dia and 3/8" outside dia......hose I have is 1/4" inside dia, explains a lot ....gots to get another hose...UGH..
So with the info above, should I get 5/16" Or 3/8" ?
LoL...fully auto :-D
If there's one thing I've learned over the years is that if your hose is too small..,..well it's just too small ,don't matter how much you stretch it....
Not very familiar with this small hose problem you guys are having...
In all seriousness, most auto parts stores sell fuel line by the foot, I'd grab a foot of 3/8 (or however long you need). It should slide on fairly snugly, but without stretching it out too much. If you have some spare hard line or a fuel filter, you can bring it there to make sure the hose fits nicely to make sure you've got the right size.
