A buddy of mine was telling me that I should do a higher stall torque converter. He was telling me that it's sort of like gears, but you lose power on the dyno. Anyway, was wondering if anyone has done it and what the pros and cons of it were. Also, for those who have had one installed, how much did it cost you for install and the torque converter it's self?
I test drove one with a high stall converter installed... I found it super annoying to drive. I would not want my car to drive like that. It's great if you are interested in squeeling your tires, and maybe it has some positive results on the strip or track, but as a daily driver, I would hate it.
cons:
annoying slipping feel
unresposive low acceleration while trying to drive with traffic
constant over revving to barely speed up.
simply annoying when city and traffic driving
