So not passing the blame or making excuses but my girl friend took my car to her appointment today and as I walked past it later today I noticed the rims nice and curbed haha fml I just cant win!

Fortunately this is my winter car that I am working on fixing up and the rims will probably end up pitted and damaged from the salt and the elements anyways so I am not going to cry but to help my
Obsessive compulsive disorder I think tonight I will pull it from the car, tape of the damaged area and sand and paint it.

anyone have any suggestions? anyone experience a similar situation and made the repair themselves? We have a wheel place near by that I could go to but I have sand paper and matte black paint that I think will match the rims nicely.

hah **** I know but common nothing worse then seeing that. I know there going to get scratched and ill just get them powder coated one day when there bad enough but for now would like to keep them looking clean. Any experience touching them up? I'm thinking sand couple quick shots of primer then few coats of black. Just not sure how to tape it off, don't really want it to make a line, any idea how to blend it?

Oh, that's not bad.
Yeah, I'd, carefully, use a file to knock it down and then sand it, keeping the repair as small as possible.
I bought some used Cobra rims that are powder coated black and some of the powder coat was chipped. I used a black Sharpie to touch them up. You can still see the chips if you look close but they are much less noticeable.

I've learnt a few things about being a man over the last few years. To name a few: never lend your woman your plastic, never antagonize your woman when she says "everything is okay" because it isn't and never let your woman drive your wheels.

haha I think I will skip on the sharpie idea!
I went ahead and sanded it down and got it nice and smooth and shiny.
I will take a picture of it tomorrow then hit it with some primer and paint.
Hope its not an obvious color difference! And hope I can make it blend well enough to look like it never happened.

I did something similar to my wife's car when it was only a month old in downtown DC. She can't drive a manual trans so can't repay the favor lol.

I sanded it taped off the area, hit it with primer then spray paint a few coats.. wet sanded a little of the paint line then used some elbow grease and some polish. Was going to take a picture today but after a couple weeks of driving I cant even find the spot anymore to take a picture lol rim looks perfect.

I curbed the black saleens on my 2v in a parking garage where they had the curbs painted black.... we went into the restaurant and I ordered a wheel before I would order lunch.
