Well, sadly the driving season for my Mustang is coming to an end for this year. I was wondering what does everybody do to prep their cars for winter hibernation? Just iff the top of my head, I usually think of fuel stabilizer, battery tender, and check the antifreeze. What's everybody else do?
Pump the tires up to 35-38 psi. If parked in an unheated garage, drive the car onto tarp to keep the moisture away, and put the car away hot to remove all the moisture from the exhaust.
Last year was the first year I stored my car for winter. Heres everything I did Prior to putting it away.
1) Extensive Exterior detailing. I washed, Clayed, sealed and threw on a few coats of fresh wax. I didn't want any contaminants sitting on the cars paint all winter.
2) vacuumed out the entire car, trunk included. I didn't want any food crumbs or something to entice critters.
3) put in some stabil treatment and filled up the tank with gas.
4) I parked the car on folded cardboard boxes under each tire, which I filled to proper specs.
5) hooked up a battery tender
6) last but not least, I threw a few mouse baits under the car, just incase any pests wanted to try to invade.
All of this worked quite well for me, and when I pulled the car out, I had no issues.
Also, Most important step of all, beginning after approximately 1 month from the date of storage, every 2-3 weeks you'll be required to go out and stare longingly at the car, dreaming of the day you can once again drive it.

All the above, plus
Box of baking soda in trunk and car.
I take aluminum foil, and cover the exhaust tips to keep critters out.
Cry a little bit.
