Ok guys I ran my car today and only got 1 pass before they closed the track because of rain. Tell me what you think of my time. I'm the right lane car # 4045. My reaction time is real good huh.

Good time for street rubber, not so great if it's a drag radial.....

#6 ·
I was on drag radials 275's. My mods are in my sig. I still have cats.

Don't know what the temp was. I'm sure you can look up what it was in fontana CA at about 1:00pm

I challenge you, put it in the 11s. Your mph says that's possible on a sticky tire.

I have supposedly the softest tune you can buy, factory airbox and exhaust, up to the GT500s out back, full load BBP car and I put that in the 11s on basically a tire, and I'm going 4 mph faster than you when I get there.

Set a goal that's actually a bit hard to do, you can get there.

That was my first and only run so I was happy with it. If I go catless I'm sure that will help. Car felt good and the tires hooked good.

There's more in it, as it sits. Mph is a little soft for a custom tune car but, that will likely improve as time drops. You able to hold 4th through the stripe?

I have the Mike roush tune and from what most say it's the best tune for autos. I was full weight with 1/4 tank of fuel. I launched around like 1600 rpm.

You might be right grabber it might have been 3rd now that I think about it. What do you think of my time?

Did not realize your auto. You should be low 12's. I ran VMP 93 street tune only 12.45, 12.47, 12.51 hot lapped on oem nero's. And I was shifting into 4th right before traps. Traps 111-112 and 2.00 60 foots. 1/8's were 8.16 @ 88 mph for reference. Fyi

Sorry about the brain fart, I forgot auto. Should be holding third.

The 60 on stock suspension with a drag tire is going to be 1.5 at best. It is doable but is tough on an auto with the stock converter.

There were 5 other mustangs all in the 13's so how you guys say your "stock" mustangs are low 12's kinda makes me think it must be location. As soon as I parked 2 dudes asked what I had done to my car to get such a good time. I think if you run low 12s in your state you will run high 12s or low 13s here.

I never said my mustang was stock or low 12's. I ran solid mid 12's with just a tune and drop in filter. You have quite a few more mods than me. We are trying to help not shame.

My runs were in 350 da at 1500 elevation. Corrected for sea level it was a 12.2 range. BTW my first and best run was coming off idle and my second and third run was 1200 rpms and 1500 rpms on the brake. So I went slower when trying to give it throttle on the brake. These cars are sensitive to this I hear.

Get some more runs in and see where your average lands. Even though Mike is good tuner I'm sure there is more left in the tune. Secondly, try leaving off idle next time. Good luck.

It's not about claiming "stock" or not. You should be doing a bit better based on what you have already done. It's there for the taking; you should not be satisfied with what you've done so far, based upon what you report you've done to the car. It's not about "going catless"; it is about maximizing what you have.

I have exhaust, tune as the only power mods.

Yes I'm in CA so 91 Oct tune. I know I can knock down the time a little more but 12.5 is the best I've seen any Coyote run when I was there or at Irwindale 3 weeks ago.

Now, I'll give you that you have **** gas where you are but a free flowing exhaust and tune should turn in better than 111 mph on one of these cars. 111 is in easy reach of a factory exhaust car, seen it many times, even autos.

It isn't about your power mods, you've also got a sticky tire. That's the combo that has more in it.

are you saying go catless? Think it will really drop me down in to the 11s. I don't.

#38 ·
You mentioned going catless early on. I said you can do 11s as it sits, without any further, using as an exemplar my own car doing it with only axlebacks for exhaust mods.

60ft =1.997, 1/8th =8.168, 1/4= 12.537 @111mph
