What you're looking at is bushing compliance, the fact that the new link is adjustable is irrelevant. Important, but not related to what you are seeing here. The new link has poly bushing in the front which is what is reducing excessive movement. So this thread would better be described as the importance of proper bushing selection. The fact that the link is adjustable is s bonus, but not really a factor here.
Definitely agree w Fabman but the oem piece is flimsy (by my definition of what it is and how important the piece is!) vs any aftermarket uca. The steeda uca I have looks and feels like it belonged on the space shuttle (imo) compared to oem. NVH increase to me was so minute it could be in my head?
Great video comparison!!
I'm so glad you posted the before and after videos, very interesting I changed my upper and lower control arms also after trying to get mine to hook "what a difference". Great post.
Everybodies defintion of NVH is different. The LCAs and Relo brackets changed no noise or anything though i can hear the gears a little more, no idea if thats related at all lol
I have a bmr upper mount that has been laying in my spare room for about 3 months looks like I need to get this put on. I knew the stock was bad but I had no idea it's was that bad
I still gotta get this installed. I put my lcas on and immediately noticed gear whine. Doesn't bother me though, but I have been wondering, how does putting lcas on create increased gear whine?
Do you have 3.73's? It most certainly shouldn't increase gear whine, there's no real correlation between the 2. It could be in your head, or maybe you're just now noticing it. I've noticed the gear whine since I took the car off the lot. I noticed it on my 2V when the 3.73's went in.
Yes ... the UCA & LCAs are an awesome addition to any Mustang ... great video & to add to it ... here is a little bit more of a dive into the Control Arms:
Should be nice to throw that all on when it comes in. The slop in the factory hardware is something to see, for sure. Glad to see the improvements in hooking up hard going from hopping gears to small chirps with each pull. Can't wait to get mine in DD
