Which Model Year GT engine is Best for Vortech

I was have a debate with a friend and we basically gave ourselfs a 5-6k Budget in building our Model Gt Engines and who can make the most effcient power while it still being a daily driver

He Said that he can build a 97-98 GT with PI Swapped Heads and Cam with Stage 2 Clutch/FlyWheel with forged pistons/Rods and the Vortech V3 kit and his Reasoning was because the 96-98 GT block was stronger and the PI Heads for that model was stronger and allowed a great amount of airflow and it was cheaper and lighter

Mine was the 03-04 Model Windsor Block with Trick Flow heads and Bullet Racing Blower Cams Idk what rods and pistons i would go with tbh stage 2 tranny and a steeda suspension with a Vortech and my reasoning was these models with a head swap where the best proven that I seen with numbers with vortech and our block was lightweight and strong and could be stroked and bored better if necessary

There is no difference between the two motors other than compression ratio assuming stock rods and pistons. Both blocks will.handle 700+ no problem and honestly you both are discussing the same point. The better motor is gonna come down to who has the most money.

Built motor with a blower for $6k. Lol try doubling that.

Also your friend sounds clueless about these motors. Nothing you are saying he said is remotely accurate.

$5-$6k budget will get you a used blower setup on a stock motor with a tune/fuel and driveline upgrades if you do the work yourself.


Not sure what he is talking about with the 96-98 blocks and heads vs the newer stuff... Whatevs... he can learn the hard way if he really tries to go that route I guess haha.
