Decided to go upgrade and went with the 675 kit from VMP for my 2012 RS3? Does anyone have any experience with this kit? How much of a difference am I going to feel and how safe is it for the car?

I also talked with Justin at VMP, he mentioned he could fix issue by making a few adjustments without dyno tuning. I know he will be at mustang week coming up in Myrtle Beach. I considered using him and have read a few mixed reviews, mostly good. I just don't want a canned tune. I want my car on a dyno and fine adjustments made to my car and my mods. So I am considering making the trip to Florida to have Justin Dyno tune it or have Pro Dyno tune it at mustang week. Either way I think it cost around 500. Keep us posted as to what the fix is if you get it ironed out before us, thanks bro.

Do it. I ran his email tune up until last week no drove all the way from West Virginia to let him dyno tune my car and wow. It's a totally
Different car now lol the drivability is 100% better as well. No sloppy shifting anymore either. you won't be sorry. Had it dialed in perfect with 3 pulls. Text Design Font

Hey man, no not yet. I haven't done anything yet. Since Myrtle Beach mustang week starts next Wednesday, I am having Roush Yates look over everything while I'm there. I know VMP will be there along with Pro Dyno and many more vendors. To my knowledge though, Pro Dyno will be the only ones there dyno tuning. So I am really leaning towards using them if I do so. Although I am not big on paying $500 for something that takes them 15 minutes and a few dyno pulls (I already have the hand held sct). So we'll see....Overall my car runs very strong and pulls extremely hard, I do put my power numbers mostly to the ground. I will keep you posted if I have any work completed. I'm glad your car seems dialed in bro, enjoy!

He must have hooked you up with a great deal man, maybe because you already had his email tune. This was his reply to me, I was going to buy their heat exchanger and get a dyno tune. He wanted $500 for dyno tune (with me already having my own sct handheld)

Hey, that
sounds good. we could do it the 30th, start around 11am on the HE, get it
knocked out, and then put it on the dyno. It is 799 for the HE, 300 for
install, and 500 for dyntoune with existing SCT tuner. i can get it dialed
in for the LTs and also look at that stall issue when cold.

Hey Guys

I have a couple questions..I have a 2013 RS3 Roush with the Roush Phase 2 upgrade. This is the 625 HP upgrade and the car runs perfect. I have never had even one problem. I just read this thread and it looks like you guys have used different tuners etc. and have had a few little problems. I am considering upgrading again to the Roush 675 HP phase 3 and I am asking your opinion about this Phase 3 kit #421597. I would guess that it might not make the big numbers like some of you are going for but I want the car to run smooth like the phase 2 kit I have now. What do you think?

Did you not change your factory shifter yet??? I would personally spend money on that before anything. As for the phase 3 upgrade...The phase 2 didn't even change your pully size did it? It would have been best to jump right to stage 3, but since you didn't that's a moot point. I don't think any of us really have problems per say, there can be minor hiccups anytime you tune a car, regardless of who you choose. It seems VMP has the best rep. I don't know if his kit includes a boost a pump though. The reason I stuck with Roush Yates for phase 3 is because they stand behind what they do. They are honoring my warranty. Hard to decide what to do based on where you live. There are plenty of people who claim roush tunes are very conservative and that numbers don't tell the true story. I don't know, I got 617 rwhp and I feel mine is very good. That was after headers, before I had 572 with phase 3 kit. I tend to believe people on here, I think VMP or a few others are probably better. It all depends on your goals....I know this, the Kooks LT headers are sick! The sound under throttle makes me smile every day. I would get headers with off road pipe, and have it tuned then. I wouldn't worry about phase 3 now. First things first, get a short shifter if you have not.....MGW installed for free also!

Thanks Jamey

I put a MGW shifter in my 2012 Boss 302 and it did help the notchy shifter. My factory shifter in my 2013 Roush is not bad at all. If I ever do decide to change it will be MGW........Right now the next step would be the Roush Phase 3 upgrade. I have been so happy with the Roush Phase 2 upgrade that I am considering doing the Roush Phase 3..

Thanks for the reply

Call vmp up tomorrow and get their upgrade and tune. You'll love it. My gt makes 615/529 with the 47# injectors. Vmp 2.3 a BAP and vmp tune. On 10lbs.

Lildude,
Did I just hear you right? Did you say the Roush axle backs were too loud....?? I have heard very few mustangs that were too loud. The roush exhaust should have been music to your ears! You are considering a off road x pipe and magnaflows? If you do the off road pipe, you will need to bypass the CEL's you will get from removing cats. Not sure if you have a handheld tuner or not? You would most likely have to get your tune adjusted again as well, no big deal..maybe a few data logs. Roush exhaust does have a very specific sound to it and personally I love it. I would like a deeper note like a old school muscle car. I have the o/r H pipe, at start up it doesn't change much. Under throttle it sounds like a nascar vehicle. The drone on the highway is minimal, except it sounds like **** in 6th gear...But realistically I am NEVER in 6th. Since I have kooks headers, I eventually might make it kooks all the way back, but right now I can't blow anymore money. My only goal would be a little cleaner of a deep rumble. Roush has that little chop to it, the X pipe would amplify it for sure. But if you are saying Roush was too loud, an off road X pipe certainly won't make it quieter. Upload a video on what you do/get. Enjoy the summer bro! Youtube angry roush and you will hear mine, it's very short though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PV-HEa6Rj4 or watch mine also, you tube search roush 2014 kooks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quDBCsVy8DY
