I am looking for some advice on getting my quarter mile times down using the best technique. I have a manual v6 and still consistently at 14 flat. My mods are steeda cai, mpt tune, Aluminum one piece, and the 3.55 gears

OP start by answering these questions to see where you are deficient.

Lower control arms and a good set of tires

Interesting to read. Did not know you get better traction when the sun goes down.

Well it's good for me who's trying to learn all this stuff. LOL
Not exactly what the op needs but gets him thinking.

But does anyone have a recommendation for what rpms I should launch at with my 235 perllis?

It is a delicate balance between ever so slightly slipping the clutch to get a good launch with street tires.

You should be able to crack a 2.0 60' time which should net you at least a 13 second time slip. The rest will depend on suspension and tires and finally practice.

Im not a very avid drag racer, but whats the general rule of thumb? .1 in the 60' is about .2 off the ET? Taking his 2.5 ish 60' down to about 2.0 works out to about a 13 second slip give or take. Sounds like its all in the launch, which is murdering your trap speed as well, i'd expect your car to be trapping at least 105

And DA is density altitude. Basically factors in things like height above sea level, the heat and humidity in the air ... a 9 second car at sea level may struggle to run mid 10s at 6000 feet you know. Obviously i pulled that example out of my ***, but you get the idea.

My elevation is 700 ft above sea level approx. If anyone is familiar with summit raceway, that is where I am

My car has the 2.73's with a manual and I managed a 1.96 60' and ran a 13.6 @ 105.2 on the stock Pirellis.

I ran 35 PSI in all my tires (normal street driving), removed my spare tire and other junk. Completely disabled Advancetrak and traction control, that was it.

I launched my car around 3800 rpm, slipping the clutch nearly the entire way, no-lift shifted each gear and ended up with a time and trap that was very close to some of the Coyote drivers that were there.

It's all about skill and experience.

A launch is all about keeping wheel spin to a minimum and not letting the engine bog. The first 60' are really the most important. After that, just bang those gears and make a clean pass.

I would also think your car should be trapping a bit higher. What gear and RPM are you in when you go through the last trap?

I shifted around 7300 to 7500.
