Okay so here's what happened. I let my friend drive my car so I could hear how it sounded from someone else's POV. Well he messed up and didn't see a lane divider while doing a left hand turn and grinded on the divider. No wheels took a hit. Sparks did fly everywhere. I was so pissed. Here's the only things I could find wrong:

Right frame is scratched
Right and left relo bracket is deburred
H pipe on the right side has some scratches but no dents in the exhaust.
And pretty much that's it. Slight scratches to some plastic underbody material but looks like the oil pan is untouched. Anything else of major concern? Only wheel that barely hit it was the right rear wheel.

Even though it doesn't look bad, my day and week feel ruined. So pissed. Should I take anything in for checking?

Sounds like this.....

So you let your friend drive your car so I could hear how it sounded from someone else's POV.

Well you have the photos attached, where are the sound files of it located at?

If you didn't record them, perhaps you could let your friend drive it again and record them this time? :mustang:

Hell if you don't want to just email me the file, i'll edit and upload it lol.

Overall it does look like only cosmetics though. I know someone that did that before and was nowhere near as lucky. If your car was a bit lower to the ground it could have done damage.

Well played sir. Just some scratches where it won't be noticed. You choose option one there which was be a good friend. Option two would have involved changing your name to Richard and having it shortened.

It is low to the ground. About a couple inches or so it just so happen the divider wasn't too big. But I'm uploading it now. I'll probably post tomorrow. You can see all the Sparks that came out as the go pro was facing the front o gt he car but you'll see a few on the front drivers side

That divider must not have been too big if your friend couldn't see it.
He/she must feel like crap.
I'd be looking at the the differential but from the description it doesn't sound like any damage was done. Check the wear pattern on your tires and check it again in a couple thousand miles to see if there's any irregular wear. Bushings on the LCA's since it looks like they took a hit.

Your Friend Owes You Nothing....

----------------------
Why should your friend owe you anything? Your the one that wanted to hear what it sounded like from someone else's car.

Do your realize how St*pid that sounds?

What's next? Have someone drive your car into a guard rail at 70 mph, to hear what that sounds like?

I'd be removing the LCAs to check them, and asking your friend to spring for new relo brackets and a just-in-case alignment. If I was the driver I would feel like a fool and have no problem with that request.
I'd also hit the bare metal on the scratches with some paint or something to prevent rust.

If I was the friend that was driving I would have offered immediately to make any damage right. I would ask him to have it checked out and give me the bill. That's what friends do. If he doesn't want to make his friend pay - that is his right. So ultimately I would have it checked out just to be sure and the rest is up to the two of them. Just my 2 cents.

Insurance covers minus deductible.

Yeah, if the friend asked to borrow the car then he's obligated to fix it. Since the OP asked the friend to do him a favor then the bill is 100% on the OP for choosing a totally incompetent blind azz driver. I think the Good Samaritan Law applies here. Lol

Worse case scenario you're out $250-500 for deductible :(

You should probably get a lower deductible if you are going to continue associating with your current friends.

If the car still drives exactly the same as it did before this incident occurred, and there are no new creaking or squeaking noises, it will probably be fine.

My deductible is $1000 also... The rates raise significantly for a lower deductible. F'n insurance companies are a scam anyway but a necessary evil I guess.

My 2 Cents

The driving friend should offer to pay for the damage and the owner friend should thank him but refuse the offer.:horse3:

Nah. If he offers and the op accepts and so either the friend will have to pay or there goes their friendship.

Better just the op choke this up as a lesson learned or risk losing a friend. But if he offers you lunch or a beer or two take the offer lol.

If you ask a friend to help carry a heavy fridge but his hand slips would you require him to pay or expect him to offer to pay for damages? It's just a very non-fortuitous accident. Curiosity killed the cat in this case the cat did a rail slide.

Sorry op. Yeah $1000 deductible is harsh. I have $500 deductibles and it hailed on my two vehicles. I was like fawk me... I was so happy that there were no damages. Good luck man.
