Before you say I need the V8, understand that I am asking for the best advice on what to do to obtain a deep growl for my exhaust on my 2012 V6 3.7L. It has magnaflow duals on it now with factory exhaust (bought it as is). It has a slight growl but not the amount I want. Aside from sounding like a Stage 3 Roush, how else could I obtain that deep "lub-lub-lub-lub-lub" sound, WIHTOUT it sounding like a damn ricer at high RPMs?
Straight pipes? BBK Short or Long tube headers? X pipes? Cats or no Cats?
That lub-lub-lub sound you are referring to is the sound a cammed car makes. Exhaust is not going to get you there. A ghost tune will, but that's another story.
I'm guessing you have the same setup I do, all stock with Magnaflow Streets. Those are the oval mufflers.
Cammed...alright.
Yeah I have the street Magnaflow exhaust tips. Rest is stock.
So what is the best option for loudness without sounding like a civic ?
Actually, my tip was in regards to their ghost cam when I learned about it early last year. It seems they revised it and made it a tad safer. They do advise to not let the car idle for longer then 20-30 min. But other then that, it seems safe now.
(sorry, was out of the car scene for a few months...)
If you want that fake cam sound then you want that Cam Lope tune. But for like $50 less, you can get a non-cam tune that produces the same performance increase. For me, I would keep the $50, get a normal tune from MPT, and use the $50 for something else. Like headers.
Put headers on it. I have the same mufflers and put the BBK shorty headers on my 2011 v6. The headers sound great and they're real, not a fake cam sound. No disrespect to the ghost cam guys, but it's just not real
I just put the S-Types on mine and have received lots of compliments. Sure they cost a little more but take into consideration the quality, sound and look of the 4.5" tips and it's well worth it. Next mod will be the shorties.
Do you know if it is possible to use someone else's tuner and download the tune's I want for my Mustang? That tuner being previously used on a same year and model as mine..
I ordered myself this tune and got it today. When you first uploaded the tune did it cause your car to shake a lot, when braking and Just idling at lights or parked?
His is far from stock at this point. But even if it was he's the type of person who knows everything and can do no wrong. Like I've signed up for the army and he told me that's the worst decision and I'll never make money. Meanwhile he's been a deliver driver for the past 9 years and doesn't plan on doing anything else.

Thanks bro. I love it! Everyone that has heard this, thought the car had large a$$ cams in it. When I fill up gas, I leave the car running and the comments poor in. They love hearing that lug, lug, lug.
The issue with our cyclone engine even the coyote engines when it comes to cams, is with the TI-VCT you can't get the car to lope even with aftermarket larger cams. Its not like the 4.6 engines. They sound freaking awesome with larger cams but with the TI-VCT like we have, larger cams won't give you that sound.
My setup with the cam lope tune is about as aggressive growl one can get on a V6. I have long tubes and off road mid pipe.
I know you can get the lope on the Chevy with the VVT, there is a 2012 Vette that comes to the cruise spot that is running a bigger cam. Then again if they can change the phasers on the TI-VCT to give you lope I would imagine if you put cams in it it could be done to show the lope like the LS does.
That i don't know about. There is a Facebook page dedicated to 3.7 owners and all the high performance 3.7 enthusiasts are on there. The ones who are familiar with the larger regrinded cams and installed them have said, no lope with them because of the TI-VCT. The coyote guys are in the same boat with the TI-VCT. If any 5.0 owners who are familar with the aftermarket cams on here chimmed in , they would shed light about the lope.
