Ok so today i installed my Aluminum Driveshaft. Let me say this first of all, if you plan to install a Panhard Bar and Torque Arm into your Mustang, DO THE DRIVESHAFT FIRST. Oh my god it was such a pain in the ass to work around. Such a pain in the ass that when i pulled out the stock driveshaft i had no choice but to let my tranny fluid drain out since i couldn't put the other in time (garage is angled a bit so i couldn't get it to face nose down without having zero room to work).

All in all, it definitely felt lighter when i was putting it in. I'm looking forward to setting my car back to its race tune and O/R exhaust on since i literally brought it from the smog place and jacked it straight up and got to work. I have pictures of the install on my phone so i'll put those up after this post.

Anyway, probably a good thing i let the tranny drain out, lets me change the fluid and put the right amount in since i know it was overfilled like all 99-04 manuals.

Plan for tomorrow......... Brake rotors and pads, and then bolting my O/R exhaust and putting my stock midpipe back up in the attic for 2 years.

I like them all. I considered a Fusion for a long time. You can find them with low miles and only a few model years old around me. I have seen them here for around 8-10k with less than 50k miles for a 2009 or 10. All of those look good. The mini is intriguing to me, be a fun little car, great on gas, park easy etc. Prob expensive for repairs like the Audi or BMW. I think I would go in this order if I was looking to buy just going by the ads and not seeing them in person: Fusion- prob the most reasonable, cheaper to repair, good track record, cheap insurance, then the Mini, Audi, BMW. Overall not considering anything practicaly: Audi, Mini, BMW, Fusion, lol

Yeah, i want reliable. But do want pretty comfy. Its not a coincidence all of those i listed have leather interior lol. I do like that BMW though. But the fusion is cool also. The mini and Audi i threw in there because of the low miles. It would be later on the list. The BMW is going to be the closest also. Guess i gotta find some time to test drive and also try to get financed. I can budget $8k for a car. That would include putting down like $1500. So like a $6.5k loan.

Damn I was not aware cars like that were so cheap... I mean maintenance but that BMW looks new...

Yeah, who knows it may not need any maintenance at all. Could be a diamond. But could also be the opposite.

Found this one also. I'm actually really considering this one. We had a 2007 Hyundai Sonata, which was when the quality was meh, and put a ton of miles on it and it was awesome.

2010 HYUNDAI ELANTRA

For the miles it looks super clean in the pics.

I'd take the BMW for the same price... I dunno you'd have to look at them. That Hyundai looks so "base" like it is trying really hard to make you notice how many features it doesn't have lol.

Yeah i'd have to find time to drive them. I don't really have much of that lately. The BMW and Fusion are in the bay area fairly close. The Elantra is in Sacramento, so i'd have to drive for that one. I am still considering the BMW since it is super low miles. Been finding other ones exactly like it with more miles for the same price. And even though its a daily, i'm sure i'd have more fun in the BMW lol. I'd be able to take that to Euro meets lol. There is one on Sundays i think right down the street from me.

On the 3.0 duratec in the fusion, just watch the cats that are part of the headers, they tend to clog and take out the motor.

It'll come down to what insurance looks like. The Fusion is $1k more. I'm trying to ball on a budget here lol. With insurance and car note i'm hoping to stay under $220 max. With having to worry about tuition coming up and the stock market about to tank thats about all i can squeeze.

Probably not going to be able to get that BMW. Interest rate would jump to like 9% for a car older than 10 years. And the fusion is a little bit more than i'd like to spend still. I'm going to look into the Elantra a bit more. Still looks like a pretty clean car. Should be able to get under 3% on it.

Stock market was up today so i pulled $1500 out of my mutual fund, loan should only be about $5500. And still going to see if i can haggle the guy down to like $6500 instead of $6990. If i can then the $400ish would be used for a few months payments.

Not sure how far that is from you but the way it sound you would probably b pissed if U drive there only to come back without it. Straight up offer $5500. U have $1k to work with. I bought mine 3 states away. Had a price in mind low balled and snagged it. Besides they all have the same personality. Anytime I want a car I have at least 3 to choose from. This way my attitude is more like I don't give a rats a$$ if j but it it not. It gives me the upper hand. It's funny to me it's more like a game. Not that I'm filthy but doesn't make a diff if I save a $100 or a $1000. I get off more when I get what I want especially if they come off as they can budge.

Don't get the beamer !!! Lol, it will need maintenance like any other car, and it won't be cheap, parts are a joke, on the other hand they're a blast to drive, but also so much so that you're bound to break something having fun. Not hating, cuz M3's are a pretty awesome car imo, always loved them, but wouldn't want to maintain one. Just my 2cents. Our 09 focus slt was a super comfortable ride and got us to Vegas and back for $150 in gas, they're not quite a fusion, but sweet DD's. Sold it for 90 hundred dollar bills dude brought in his pocket. Just sold my boat (asking$5k) to a dude with 43 hundred dollar bills in his pocket. Whatever u get, cash money in hand does wonders ?

Yeah, i applied and got approved for a loan today. Figured i'd over-estimate the loan to $6k to give some breathing room. That along with the $1500 i am pulling from my investment, i'll have $7500 to work with. I'm going to keep looking around.

People can tell me all they want that a Prius is comfortable. I will tell them to enjoy it.

If I were shopping for a used DD right now it would be an older 5 series BMW. They ride great, have plenty of power, a lot of room, and are reliable.

I am someone that normally drives a quad cab Ram. At the moment my Mustang is my DD and I am beginning to dislike the car. I miss driving a vehicle with a front seating area as large as a living room.

I need small. The Mustang will get my parking stall at my apartment. But the other car would get the street, which is very difficult to find parking usually, and it is at a decent incline. So something very easy to find small spots and parallel park.
See if you can still get a Contour SVT with a 3L swap and quiafe and all the bolt ons done already. Not big, very fun around corners, look and sound good and you get a SVT cert to put on the wall. Most fun non Mustang DD I ever had was my 2000 CSVT.

edit: I bet this guy would take $7500 haha

So i heard back from one of the internships i applied for, the one that felt a bit more promising... I didn't get it. If i don't get any of the ones i applied for i'll be able to work with my friend over summer, so i will absolutely need a DD then, but i will also have a lot more $$$ to spend since i'll be working a crap ton of hours and overtime.
