Now that the 2008 Bullitt has been revealed what do you think about it?

I think the gray wheels kill the look. It looks too dull with the dark green. Not my favorite Mustang by far.

its not bad, its just not what I had hoped for. But then again the last bullit was also a let down to me after all the hype cleared.

back when they made the 01 version they said they would never make another bullit fyi, I wonder how bullit owners are taking it.

I can't say I'm all that impressed with it. I'm not a fan of the wheels either and I think they could have done A LOT better, especially considering the price and expectations.

I drove one of these today in SLC and it was a pretty nice ride. I like the simple look, but there's no way it was even close to sounding like the original Bullitt. I was hoping it would have that growl. It had decent power and the handling was really nice, but I'm only comparing that to my 2000 stock GT. I enjoyed the car, but the sales person told me it has 398 HP, when in reality, I believe it only has 315. If I'm not mistaken, it's a GT with a cold air intake with the only real engine mod. I love the color, but I'll wait around a couple years until someone gets rid of theirs when they realize they probably couldn't afford to buy the car in the first place. Highland green is SWEET!

Bought my Bullitt #218 on February 4th, 2008. I absolutely love it. Dealer had no clue what it was. Asked me for $5K over sticker, but after 5 minutes of haggling, I bought it for MSRP. The car is absolutely meant to be a sleeper, and was designed NOT to attract attention. It is a purists vehicle, representing the original car's personna. It is amazing to me that someone posting messages on a great Mustang website like this has absolutely NO CLUE what they are talking about. But what the heck, the world is chock full of idiots and morons, why should this website be exempt? If you don't like Ford or the Bullitt, then log onto another chat thread, do us all a favor.Maybe they can pick up another shift at Burger King.
Anyway, I have owned 11 mustangs, my first was a 1966 Shelby. This is the best one yet. Question : The idiotic lot boy at the dealership used a razor blade scraper to remove the shipping tag from the rear passenger window, scratching the glass. Didn't notice it till I got home. Any fixes anyone knows about? Keeping my car tucked away in my garage, had it for over two months, only have 42 miles on it.

you have had the car for 2 months and it only had 42 miles on it? :hmm:
whats the point in having the car if it's just going to be kept in a garage and never driven?

Drive it and drive it hard...that's what it was meant to do...I have never understood the point in having a car and doing nothing with it but keeping it in a garage to drive a couple miles every once in a while? If you really loved the car, you would take it out often and drive it hard even more often...and when it breaks, you fix it and drive it some more...that's what cars are for...especially "sports" cars...drive them and enjoy them...don't just "look" at them...

I bought a 08 Bullitt. It is the first mustang that brought back the mojo I felt when I drove my old 67 fastback (with a 351C shoehorned in it) when I bought it in 82. I've had that 67 fastback, another one later with a 289, a 72 convert, and a 94 GT. All good cars in their own way. I like this one better.

I actually went to the dealership to buy a convertable, a yellow (actually orange) one in fact. Drove like a charm, top went up and down effortlessly, and no shaking rattling or rolling. Great car. Then the salesman took me for a ride in the Bullitt while the Finance Mgr was tied up with another customer. The price was roughly the same. The simple understated looks, plain grill, no fake side or hood scoops. No rear rear spoiler that looks nice to be sure on a GT, but really doesn't DO anything. Smoother shifting, beautiful interior, great handling, and a tone to die for and a rumble that can be felt inside. Hell with the convert, I had to have it.

Is it worth that much more than a GT, and the same price as a Convert? For me, absolutely.

Sure it's not as 'flashy' and 'showy'. It also doesn't attract the cops. Someone may mistake it for a 6 banger. Fine by me. The mistake doesn't last long when they hear the roar and stare at my tail lights as I pull away. I'm not driving it for them anyway, I'm driving it for me.

If a person is looking at something that is pure business and beauty, this may be your ride. If it's not quite what the Mustang experience is to you, all's good! That's why mustangs still rule the road, they really can be customised to how each of us can imagine it 'should' be.

From my perspective, a great car. The mojo is back. Period.

ford hit a home run with the 05+ style, bringing back people that loved the old style to get new ones and bringing in new people who have never owned one and getting them hooked.

I agree with Unhomed, I also bought the 08 Bullitt for the "Sleeper" effect. I went looking for a GT, but the spoiler, scoop, and chrome was turning me off. I love the plain lines on the Bullitt, and the fact that the on external emblem is on the center of the trunk lid. People always are complementing on the "dirty gray wheels". The interior works as well, though it is a little different with the "flip-flop" styling on the dash. Are there changes I would like? Sure. More power is always good, but the styling is perfect. Yeah it is over priced, but show me a mustang that is not. You are paying for what you want and if I can finally drive home without thinking of what changes I am going to make to my new car it is worth it.

I must say, its clean, but doesnt look any more special than any other mustang. Nothing about it is really an attention getter. As far as pricing. Even the V6 models are becoming over priced. They want to charge me 6990 for my 99 5spd at 111k on the clock:eek: Even KBB runs 5k. Ive found V6 F-bodies for 3k w/ warranty & lower mileage and less problems. Ill get it any way but the stealerships gonna bend over before I do at these prices!

Well my brother just bought #4200 and I was playing with it all last week. I think some of you are missing the point a bit. If you want flashy pieces of stupid plastic and pointless ground effects and stickers, this ain't the car for you. You almost all mention it's blah and looks like a 6 cyl. That's sorta the point. In my brother's complex there's a v6 that is the same color, manual, 5 spoke rims...we mention every time we walk by how it "almost" has it right.

I'm not saying that my opinion is the only one that matters. My point is that there are some of us that go in to the Ford dealers and ask "Can I get the performance options without all the kiddy stuff?". I think many of the GTs border on ugly even though the actual CAR under all that nonsense is pretty good looking. Again, this is just my opinion. Just don't assume there aren't more of us out there. And remember sometimes when you turn heads, those heads are wondering why you put all that crap on your car.

The greatest thing about the new Bullitt is the sound. It's impressive without being obtuse. Best sound I've ever heard right off the lot. Of course my brother is already working on getting more HP out of her. But I doubt he'll add anything more than the stock 18" rims and beautiful exhaust to differentiate it from his neighbor. After all, if you can't tell the difference, you don't care about that sort of thing anyways.

Did I mention it has a 7 color lighted cup holder?
