I am new to the mustang world and would like to know which is better and why. I understand 1995 was the last 5.0's and the 4.6 was new for 1996. I wany one of the two, but need some advice. Tks
If you are going to go with the 4.6 2V I would go with the 99 and up. That is when Ford went to the PI heads. Just an option if possible, I would go with the 4.6 4V (Cobra), much better platform to start with if you are looking for performance. 5.0 motors are easer and cheaper to pump up than 4.6 motors, I hope this helps.:good:
if displacement bothers you, you can swap a 5.4 in place of the 4.6. The after market area for the 4.6 has really taken off recently. Lots of things you can do to them to make them power monsters.
i love my 95. they are both good in their own rights. 5.0's are much cheaper to Mod and 5.0 parts are everywhere cheap. i had my 95 in the 12's for less than 2k.
ahahaha!!!! not in this one. although, id love a 4 valve cobra engine in mine
the mod motors IMO just dont have the exciting off-idle torque like a good ole pushrod 5.0 does. the linear power bands of the mod motors just isnt as exciting if that makes sense
o yea gabe, get the 5.4 in there and lets race! i got something else in the works right now! ha!
As someone who now owns 2 5.0's, a 4v 4.6 and a 2v 4.6 in the driveway....it doesn't matter. If you're wanting one easy to play with but want the sn95 body get a 94-95 with the 5.0 and call it done.
Personally...I like the sound of the 4.6's better, just a sound opinion though
let me know when you wrenchin on the 95! i love 94-95 mustangs!
