Well I took the cobra in and it turns out I need new heads and it is going to cost me $3600+ to replace it all to factory, thats what it is now. I found these performance heads cheaper:
Does anyone know with these heads would I have to upgrade my cams and everything? I think it would be worth it. Just asking for everyone's opinion. I figure if I am going to dish out close to $4000 I should at least get some performance out of it.
You would probably have to get the camshafts with higher lift. That description keeps saying 4V Cobra... I thought the Cobra was a 3V engine. In any case, if you're upgrading your heads, it would be a perfect time to upgrade the cams also. So you don't have to go in there later on.
From what I've heard/read, the factory spec 05+ GT's have 3V motors, 03-04 Mach 1's had a 4V, and the 03-04 Cobra had a 3V motor. The 99 Cobra apparently had a 4V motor.
And the only ajp turbo I've ever heard of is the kit made for a Honda Civic, having absolutely nothing to do with a Mustang OR Ford.
Just to clear things up on the cobra the 1996-2004 cobras all had 4V in them the mach 1 has the 96-98 4V with 305 hp as for the 1999 and 2001 have the 320 hp 4V the 2003-2004 is also a 4V but has better heads on it. The 3V came out in 2005 and was in the car untill the end of this year
My AJP turbo civic is what I smoke mustangs in. I enjoy my mustang too, in it's own sloppy american kind of way. I like to get sideways....can't do that in my civic. But it does run 11.90 WITHOUT slicks and uses pump gas.
It's just an avatar it doesn't have to be mustang related.

Thats just what they are telling me that my compression is low on cylinder 6 so I need heads. I know it could be more than the heads. I think it is time I garage it and start to rebuild the engine the way I want.
The only way heads will make your compression go down is a burnt valve or head gasket maybe a crack but if it didn't run hot I'd say no crack. I'd get a second oppinion before I spent the money on heads if it has burnt valves I'd just upgrade the valves.
Yeah thats why I am just going to park it and start working on it on my own. Check the heads, the valves, gaskets, piston rings, and so forth. Start upgrading see how it turns out.
