I've heard I should adjust my throttle for more horses. How does this work? And how do you do it?

Ya if they don't check emissions where you live you might as well remove the cats if you're looking for "loud". Hi flows will allow the exhaust to flow better and make the car a little bit louder, but for the price of them it might be worth it to leave the stock cats on if you have emissions checks.

Alright...so an o/r x pipe is more raspy than an o/r h pipe, but the h has a deeper tone and is louder right? I've got mac shorties on my car, with a stock h pipe with cats cut out and 2 chambered flowmasters dumped. I don't want to put long tubes on because of the designs and I'd have to cut them to fit it around the steering shaft. So what can I do to make my car louder. It's not really that loud..I want it to be loud but I want it to be a little raspy. I've heard I should go with a mac pro chamber.. Also...my h pipe and an offroad h pipe are basically the same..they might sound a little different but not much. I want a loud muffler..what should I go with? I know spintech pro street mufflers are pretty loud...but not sure what to choose. So basically...what mid pipe and what mufflers should I choose?

I'd say you could go with a straight thru muffler ~ borla, magnaflow, etc. That would make the car louder. Dumps usually make the car louder compared to tips. A last resort or resorts would be straight pipes or electric cutouts. Those are the only other options I could think of to make your car louder than it already is.

It's not even loud even though it has dumps. Never really heard of borla or magnaflow on a foxbody. Most people choose flowmasters. Don't want a ticket for straight pipes. My cars carbed. What are electric cutouts?

I'm sure you could fit some borlas or magnaflows on your fox. They make quite a few different styles of mufflers and resonators.

I'm not sure how you figure you'll get a ticket for having straight pipes when you already don't have cats.

Ya a single chamber muffler would be louder than a 2 or 3 chambered muffler. A straight thru like a glass pack or Borla would probably be the loudest.

I'd say the Flowmaster 10's are the loudest Flowmasters you can get. So I'd get those if you want to stick with the Flowmaster sound on your car.

I think that's what I'll do. What about mid pipe, I like the x pipe because it's raspy but the h pipe is louder...

You could get divorced duals...meaning instead of a midpipe get two separate pipes ran from the catback section to the headers. This will give you a deeper tone and possibly a little bit of rasp/crackle. At least it does on the 99-04 5.4L v8's in the F150's.

I have experience with off road x pipe not worth it on a v6. Sound isn't what you should go for on a v6 if I could go back, I'd get my stock y pipe put brand new cats on it and get a cat back system. That would give a low tone but also sounds better bc u hear the cai... I hate my exhaust. I wish I could find a place that sells 2000 v6 mustang stock y pipe...

I heard a v6 with an off road x and it sounded good. It's all in muffler choice
