HELP building a fiberglass enclosure

Hey guys.... Is there anyone here who could give me some info on building fiberglass enclosures? anyone that made one? I just purchased an alpine type r 12" sub and a 350W rms alpine amp and i thought the best way to display it would be a custom fiberglass box. I have never built a box with fiberglass before so this will be the first.

get the stuff from www.selectproducts.com and then make the enclosure out of wood first then coat with a couple thick layers of fiberglass. sand the aplly bodyfiller i would suggest "rage gold" body filler. then sand until it is smooth with 600 grit sand paper. then paint or coat with vinyl.

Talk to the mitsu guy here on the site. His name is eclipsegstdude. He built a custom box for his eclipse and can probably help you more than anyone.

I did a how-to on this site, but my digital camera shat out on me, and i got lazy. Email me if you need help, I've built a few of them for mustangs.

I have another question, if you have worked with fiberglass plz respond. I have built the box and put 1 coat of the resin over the fabric. the directions for the resin says that the drying time is 1.5 hours with 70 degree weather, where i live its only 50 degrees, can i apply 1 coat at a time with like 4 hours of drying time? i want to know if i can finish my box this year.

just make sure u never put more than 2% hardener or it will start to smoke (the mixture)
for example if u put 100 grams of resin then only put 2 grams of hardener, but never more than 2 percent.

thats the site i used to help me build my fiberglass monstrosity, whos buildup can be seen here http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/509528/6. that took me about 3 weeks from start to finish. i made a back mold, fiberglassed it with about 2 layers of the thick chop matte. pulled that out after it dried, made sub rings that would fit the subs in, suspended them by dowels, wrapped sheet around the whole project. glassed the sheet with just the resin mix(no matte) then let the sheet face dry. then put about 4 more layers of glass on the front part. then i went bondo crazy, spend 3 days sanding, put high build primer, then sanded more, then primer, then painted it black. didnt like the black, stripped it, painted it grey like the interior. that grey cracked due to the heat of the car in the day, so i then put grey vinyl over it to match the car. looks great, i messed up in a few spots.

overall it was a learning experience, i made some mistakes. while i like what i have now, i think i could do better knowing how to do it now. i might make another back seat enclosure come spring.
