70 rack and pinion conversion
 
Has anybody upgraded from power steering to power rack and pinion? My old man an I are in the process of making our own setup out of a 92 cavalier power rack and are wondering what we should do for tie rods. We'd like to do something like the kits have but have been unable to find those types of rods. Does anybody know where we could find them or of a different type of rack setup that doesn't involve buying the expensive conversion setups?

I was under a 2004 Lincoln Town Car today and remarked about how the aluminum sub frame would look good under a Classic stang. Without taking a tape measure to it this looks do-able

Awesome. I'll look into it. If you get a chance to look at it again would you grab some measurements for me? Much appreciated anyways though

No Problem, I work for a Ford & Lincoln Dealer so I should get it regularly

Awesome. It would be nice to know how much steering travel it has as well if you could get that to it would be a huge help

The Measurements are as follows
Frame rails measure 4" wide on either side
Inside to Inside frame rail measurement = 30"Center of Frame Rail Retaining Bolt to Center of Frame Rail Retaining Bolt 33"Lower Ball Joint stud to Lower Ball Joint stud 60 1/2 "center of tire to center of tire 63 1/8 " The only other modifcation would be a fixed mount for the rear lower control arm retainer.
