Where my photoshop guys at?

Looking for somebody to kinda doodle with a picture if they would be so kind. I've seen photoshopped snake eyes on Shelby cars and I'm hooked on the look.. Realistically it probably can't happen. But with photoshop, it can!
Maybe somebody can put a set of snake eyes on my blue car? Thanks in advance! Attachment 155599Attachment 155600

Well could you do something like that for me? Maybe with a blue eye instead of red? I'd really appreciate it

The guy who actually makes these covers is on Instagram. I emailed him about making me a set. It's 3m sticker type deal. He doesn't charge but like 20 bucks or less to do it, but you supply the covers and shipping both ways

Grimace96 05-24-2014 08:47 PM

Actually. Realistically, it could happen. I'm a graphic designer at SOGA Graphics and my brother and I will wrap anything. 3M makes a backlit material that will glow when you turn on your headlights. Is it LEGAL? Probably not, but I guess if it doesn't effect your ability to see, then it could be legal. I can ask a buddy of mine here who's a state officer but it could vary from state to state. Maybe buy an extra set of headlight casing and wraps those lens' and use them for show as needed. I mean seriously, who can say they have actual eyes for headlights? Seems like an awesome idea. I might try it myself. Just hit up a junk yard and get some old casings and I'll test it out. Fun project at least.

Mosified 05-24-2014 10:34 PM

Just install the Best/Brightest fog lights to make up the difference ;-)

With backlit you don't have to have the best/brightest. LED or HID bulbs will work fine but it doesn't have to be like the brightest of bright. The backlit material is SUPER thin. Light has no problem passing through it. We wrapped a sign with dull yellow bulbs and the picture was still quite clear actually. With what he's wanting with the snake eyes, I think a yellow tinted bulb would look better anyway.

Well when this idea first come about, the guy who I had seen do this had custom made these for one person, and now he's got a website to order them. It's a 3m see through vinyl sticker on a headlight cover ". Can order them for 50 some odd dollars free shipping. Dude is making a killing... Said he's done like 40+ cars now

$50? That's pricey even with shipping. Does that include install or do you have to apply it yourself? I've been diddling around with it at work, if I were to use the 3M backlit material I would only be using about $3 worth of material (my cost). Design $20, with shipping I could do it for $35 depending on the shipping location as long as it's in the states.

Graham1992 05-30-2014 06:27 AM

I lied. It's around 70 dollars. And that includes the $44.99 headlight covers..

So you're saying the includes new casings?

Yeah that includes him getting the 3m vinyl, printing the design he's made, cutting it to size and shape, and putting it on a headlight cover, and sending them to me. Not a bad deal at all really.

Not at all if it includes new casts. The only downfall is...it's illegal in all 50 states. So, it's a good thing they come with new headlight covers because that'd be something you could only use for show. It's no different than tinting your headlights. In the daytime it's legal just because you're not using the lights. But at night, if a cop wanted to be a ****, he could definitely write you a summon. I just learned that the hard way about 3 weeks ago. Had to pay $150 fine just for having my tinted plates. He said the only thing legal to tint were my windows and no darker than 35% all the way around. I still have to strip my tint. Just not looking forward to it.

Yeah I got a ticket for tinted windows. But lied when I said I took it off. 5% all the way around on the car. As for the headlights, I would only use them for shows or tracks. Wouldn't be much visibility at night anyway.

If you use the backlit material it really doesn't affect the visibility. That material is designed to allow full light to shine through. I think it's a stupid law, but then again there are stupid people. And those would be the ones who would use straight vinyl.

I'm just not a fan of how "cartoony" they look. Especially the oddly colored ones. For $70, seems they would look more professional. Just my opinion though. Apparently I've just been around my brother too much. I see his designs and it makes me just want to turn my monitor off and go home lol. He could make them look so real.

FullyAutomatic 05-30-2014 07:28 AM

lol Grimace we get the hint... you can make them.
since it only costs you $3 .. print some out and take a few pics with them on your car and let us be the judge ...

p.s I am still waiting to see the after video of your car not ticking from replacing that solenoid :)
