02 GT - Clicking sound

In 1st gear and when taking off (not high speed), there is a clicking sound coming from what seem middle to rear location. It also makes a similar sound if im sitting at a stop and I don't have the clutch pinned to the floor...it will make a clicking sound.

Clutch?

Almost sounds like a possible pilot bearing. When you disengage your clutch is when the input shaft recedes out of the pilot bearing and when your clutch is engaged is when it re inserts back into the pilot bearing. Sorry for the long winded explanation. You hearing it when it is engaged tells me thats the most probable cause.

Thank you. Should I change the clutch while I'm changing the bearing? I don't know the history of the vehicle...so no idea how old the clutch is.

Thanks again for your help.

Typically with that job you want to replace the pilot bearing, thowout bearing, clutch and resurface the flywheel. Is the correct way to do it. Obviosly inspect the shift fork and pivot ball for damage
