2012 GT with Rearview Mirror Rattle
I have been hearing a rattle coming from what I thought was the dash. Come to find out by chance it is coming from the rearview mirror. I believe it is from where the joint is for between the arm and the back of the mirror.

Anyone else have this and might have a good idea for a fix. My car is under Mike's for warranty but over for age so I can't get the dealer to replace it.

I have a 14 and mine rattles a lot too, its not from the joint like u said but its just from the flimsy plastic that its made up of. If u grab it and squeeze it a little u can hear the plastic make noise. I wrapped some electric tape tightly over where the two plastic pieces join and it helped a little but it still rattles a lot. Consider getting an after market better quality one.

I have a 2012 and have a rattle in that area for years. Removed the mirror, it still rattled, took apart the entire drivers door, no rattle in there. It is either coming from the dash or A pillar and I'm not about to tear them apart to find it. My car only does it when a certain harmonic vibration is hit and then it rattles like hell.

Yes, I begun to have this loud rattle on my 2012 GT as well, this year. Agreed that it happens on very specific vibrations : me, it is the joints on a very specific large road bridge, when I cross it at around 50 mph . The noise from the mirror is horrible then, but unheard otherwise.

No solution found yet

Mirror rattle
On my 2012 v6 premium, mine was driving me crazy, a lot of research , I fixed mine. U have to gently split open the two halfs. The electronic board then un plugs with 2 other plastic pieces . It's those 3 plastic pcs. Making the noise. I used some double sided foam tape on both sides of the pc board then reassemble
