Once again I'm in need of the almighty wisdom of the forum!
This time the question is about the in-dash stock CD Player.I would like to think it would be easy but have learned the hard way too many times so figured I'd ask first....How's this bastard come out?!!Is their ANYTHING I need to know before I get crackin on this sucker?!And what kind of tool should I use for dash panel removal?(screwdriver,prybar,shotgun(hehehehe))The how-to's I have seen do not cover this application cause they are for the pre-99 model pony.If any of you have pics or a helpful "how-to" link that would be appreciated too.What needs to be done for a good, clean removal of the stock radio?All serious replies are appreciated and all the unserious replies are laughed at and ignored....

It's just not my night with audio.

I can't tell you for sure, my friend has an '03 V6 with that huge headunit. I wanna say it needs the radio removal keys. But I'm not to sure about that.

Guess what....I'm probally wrong! I went to my local Ford dealer and was looking for the '05s and stopped and looked at a '04 GT and didn't see the removal keys holes so, I have no idea how they come out.

Ok.how to remove cd player. You have a bezel around your shifter and a separate one around the cd player. Pull up on the one around your shifter, may take a little bit to get off but it comes off. Have a small screwdriver handy and push in on the pin that holds the cig lighter harness in. Pop that off and put the bezel somewhere else. Then grab ahold of both sides of the bezel around your cd player, pull on this, this one's pretty tough to take off, but just pull straight out and it comes off. Once you do this, there are two screws on the bottom of the cd player that hold it in, I believe these are around a 10mm but I'm not exactly sure. Any other questions just post them back on here.

One other thing that protains to this thread is would you also happen to know how the thermostat gauge lighting is attached?I figured that I'd go ahead and throw that question out there since I wanted to change the color from green to blue...would be a good time to look into doing that if it's possible, having the console all pulled out and everything.Is it lit by a bulb or is it a light strip or what?Again

I believe to change the colors on your air controls all you have to do it buy different knobs with different colors in them. I believe this is right but don't try to quote me on it.
