68 coupe 289 lights come on but won't turn over and headlights won't come on

It was a nice day today and i decided to get out there and finish hooking up transmission lines and drive shaft and tighten up the headers and bolt up the mufflers and it won't turn over i just bought the car and have never heard it run and it is supposed to but i am thinkin it may be a lose connection or unplugged wire but the headlights will not come on but interior lights and console and turning signals and dome light work i checked the 4 fuses it has on the fuse box on the firewall and they appeared to be good but the after market gages light up but voltage is not registering i really don't know where to start any ideas let me know please

First you need to make sure all battery connections are clean (no corrosion) and secure (tight)and the battery is fully charged with battery charger

second you need to understand that some components do not have fuses.
They have circuit breakers and fusible links

Since the starter won't crank with the key there are few things that could be the problem.

NSS (neutral start switch) is preventing power to S terminal of the starter relay (solenoid) on the fender.

Well man i didn't try that today while i was over there working on it but i did get it to turn over and start just by bumpin the s terminal with the battery wire and the key on i couldn't get the fuel pump to pull gas out of the gas can didn't want to run it through the tank until i get a new tank and gas lines but we bottle fed it through the carb and it sounded wonderful i was so happy to hear it run for the first time since i bought it it's got a 289 in it the heads have been redone it's got a mild cam in it they said anyway and a holley dual injection carb and a weiand high rise intake with a spacer headers and some nice soundin mufflers not sure what they are but anyway the guy at autozone told me how to check and see if it's the relay or the switch but i didn't get a chance to do that but it wouldn't run until i turned the key to the on position so i dunno a lil kink but i'll get it worked out i still dunno what's wrong with the headlights tho but i got it down off the jack stands finally and it was originally a 6 cylinder car so with the 289 in it it looks lowered in the front it's got a nice rake to it but what vehicles can i get disc brakes off of from a scrap yard and or suspension thanks for the info tho man wish i had known that earlier today
