My co-worker is selling a 91 Camaro RS for $500. I looked at it and its in okay shape, except for a dent on the driverside, and it needs a new fuel pump. He said he's selling it because he's saving up for a Camaro SS. Can anyone tell me if the 91 Camaro Rs's are fast? I know it has 170hp and 255TQ. Oh, and its a 5-speed. What do you guys think?

They are decent. My friend has one and it seems a little laggy but its not bad. The 5 speed part is the best thing you can have for that car. 500. is a great deal if its in ok shape fuel pumps aren't that expensive so I would buy it before someone else does.

Are they faster or as fast as our 6-shooters?

17's stock? Wow, thats slow. Are you talking about the v6 or the 305? Because the one he's selling is a 305. I should have specified that earlier.

The throttle body injected 305 is a real dog from the factory. The five speeds got 3.08 rear-end gears and if it came with a positraction differential (which it may not have), it's probably worn out by now. I think most of the L03 cars run in the 16's, stock. Headers, 3" cat-back, 3.73s, and a new differential can put 'em in the 14's.

Yeh, those older body camaros and TransAms are pretty slow...they're fun to mess with to build your confidence up lol. Had a guy in a 88 6er that keeps wanting to race me..so I just beat him every time and then turn off and catch back up later.

my buddy had a 3" catback, K&N, Hyperchip (junk), 180* thermostat, stock rear, and pulled a 16.7 out of it
he then got a 90 firebird, LO3, same exhaust, K&N, 9 bolt rear with posi and 3.27's, a 2,800 stall converter, and more handling oriented suspension, pulled a 15.88
you should have a high 15 our of a 5-speed LO3 car, unless you cant get traction
