like the subject says i'm looking for the offset of the 16 inch rims that came on 94-98 mustangs and maybe even before that. I found a good deal on 16 racing tires and need 16 rims to go with em, only problem is i'm trying to stay in the stock category. But as long as i can find rims that are similar in size and measurements, i should be good. so if you know the offset of the 16's or now of some 16's that are just like em, let me know.
EDIT: also, i know i can find the oem 16's on ebay, but i don't want to pay 100 a rim for something used that is factory just cause someone upgraded and are trying to make up for the price of their new rims.

You should be able to find used stock 16" wheels for much less than that. I would think more like $100 a set. Maybe try looking around at some of the local junkyards?
I'm not sure what the offset is, but I believe all the stock 16" wheels were 16 x 7. So, just don't expect to successfully put a very wide tire on there. A 245 is going to be pushing it.

100 a set with tires to 200 a set with tires IF the tires are new is the norm

kinda what i was thinking, for some reason it seems like these rims carry a price :S
i also believe they are 7.5" wide, and the tires i'm looking at are 255's and say the need a 7-9" rim.

You're right, it's 7.5", not 7". That's what happens when I try to think at 4:30 in the morning.

is 255 really that bad on 7.5? from what i've seen its narrower than normal, but i'm trying to save money, found some race compounds for cheap, but only in 255/50/16, and tyring to stay in stock class i need stock rims.. and like i said, the tires say to put on a 7-9 rim... :S

I put 235's on my old 7.5 wide, thats the stock size on 05+ gt's with 7.5 wide, ... a 255 may fit but the foot print wont be the full 255 as the sides will roll in due to the rim not being wide enough.
nitto's run narrow~ so a 255 nitto would probably fit fine fyi

i kinda figured i wouldn't get the full use outa the tire, i'm jsut trying to do this as cheap as possible, dot r compounds and rims all for about 600 and i get to stay in stock class
i was also making sure i wasn't going to be laughed outa every place i was going to try to get them mounted

every tire is actually different in width... you would think XXXmm is XXXmm but its all in how they decide to measure them lol~ you can try but just be prepared, 20mm over a 235 is 10mm a side, which isnt much honestly, every 25.4 mm is an inch.. so thats less than half an inch per side.
