Just wanted to check. For the 17x9s I have for all four corners, 275/40/17 is the way to go according to the wheel/tire sticky right? Are the fronts going to be too wide with the 275/40s or should I do a 255 or something like that. They are going on a 98 stang and I want to avoid any kind of rubbing, etc. Any feedback would be awesome. Thanks guys!

i've only ever had 245's on my 94 so far, i saw a pic of 275's on all corners and didn't like the fronts, they had the backs either even with or slightly sticking otua the fenders and the fronts were personally pretty far out there, probably to try to avoid rubbing, from what i've been reading i wanna go with the 255 and 275 setup, but thats just me.
and again, i don't have this first hand experience, just from what i've read andd seen.

275/40/17 is the perfect size. The 94-98 cars have a little bigger fender well too, so they will work perfectly with your car.
The only minor downside is that you may not be able to turn your wheels completely to full lock with the 275s. But that's easy to solve... just don't turn it to full lock.

for a 9 wide do not EVER go with a tire less than a 265 (275 is the best) if you cant run the 9 wide front wiht the right tire then dont. You will be fine though. A little rubbing wont hurt anything. The 03/04 cobras had a little notch on the frame taken out and a rack limiter to keep them from rubbing fyi

Cool thanks guys! I'm putting the stang up for sale and the way I figure is that I might be able to get a little more cash for her if I have the nice rims on with a new set of tires even if they are cheap ones. The tires that came with the rims when I bought them are destroyed cause the kid did burnouts and drove like a nut all the time. There are 245/40/17s on all of them and they look weird on them. Not enough tire for me! So 275s are the way to go, cool! I'll have to get them ordered then. Just picking up a set of Sumitomo HTR Z IIs to fill in.

Been running 275's on the front of a mustang for several years now, love the look and the handling.

Got the tires today. Pretty fast delivery! Called Steeda up to get a quote on a mount and balance and alignment for the car so just have to wait for the check in the mail to get it done. Tires look awesome and huge width!
