Sorry no such thing in my 20 + years of car building I have never seen a factory freak extra powerful car and everyone that I have challanged and got on a dyno was proved to be wrong. This is just one of many urban legends out there.
Now I did know of a person who bought a Camaro with what he though was a 396 big block from a add in the paper and when he took me for a ride I was like What the Hell. It was a monster. When he opened the hood I could tell it was not stock. The Block was not painted and was sort of silvery looking I stuck a magnet on it and it fell off. I look all over for casting numbers and it was a Aluminum 427. we dynoed it and it made 495 RWHP

Just attempting to difuse the situation. I know its highly unlikely to have a factory freak. An accidental 427 would kick ass though.

well it was a 68 or 69 camaro that was used and someone had replaced the motor. But it was a welcome suprise. That car would roast the tires till they blew

anything is possible. I have seen quite a few c5 vettes at my track run low 14s around 99mph..and it is considered a pretty fast track too. It is all in the driver. On the street i think anything can happen.

Crappy driver yes it can happen. But then again bragging about whipping a Vette or anything is sort of juvenile. Especailly when you can consider yourself fortunate he didn't suck you thru his motor and blew you out the backside wondering what the hell happen. I have also found oftentimes people in nice rides really wont race and punch it then back off. If I had a Vette and was beside a Mustang GT I would not think it was worth my time. I was in Atlanta about 2 years ago and I was clipping along I-85 and came up on a Viper as I pulled up beside him in traffic he did nothing as I slowly eased past him as I was outside of Atlanta about 20 min Later he came buy me like he was in full afterburner. as he got down the road aways he slowed down I put on the gas and got within about 100 ft from him and he went in afterburner again and he was gone. At about 120 I was losing ground like I was going backwards.
