Well, got a chance to give the new 2010 Mustang a good once-over saturday so I figured I'd give my opinions.
- The V6 front bumper has a much better aesthetic look than the GT front bumper. Also, the GT front bumper is as low as a lowered SN95 car. I'm interested to see how this works out.
- There is way too much black plastic on this new car for me. Bottom of GT front bumper has "wings" on the bottom in black, down the sides of the car is black, and it seems the bottom 1/3 of the rear bumper is just black plastic. I guess I'm lost in the whole "slimming" the car.
- The halogen headlights look nearly identical to the Camaro headlights to me. I pointed this out to them and I was told the HIDs look totally different, however, they did not have a car with the HID option on the lot.
- They've actually somewhat designed a rear end on this car, much much better than the S197. It still seems like the whole setup is an afterthought right before production. I do, however, love the fact they come from the factory with sequentials.
- The lines on the side of this car are quite stunning to study. My first thought with it, however, is it will be a PITA to do any body work, including paintless dent removal. Over the rear wheel you have 3 different body lines meshing back into smooth sheetmetal. It is also missing the side scoops which should be an integral part of the vehicle.
- Onto the interior - Ford is finally starting to use some quality materials, I was quite impressed with the 3 cars I sat it and messed around with. One thing to note - there IS a trunk pop button inside the car. The bad part with this is it works no matter what gear you might be in and is located to the L of the shift bezel on the center console. I can see this getting pressed at times when you did not mean to.
- Also on the interior - the drink holders are a flashback to the 94-98 interior with a door that you flip up for two drink holders. Which, by the way, are located directly where your arm should sit for the shifter. When will Ford learn to put drink holders in the door like they do on their trucks?
More reviews to come in the future as I get a chance to test drive both the V6 and GT models and review the drivetrain as well as criteque the interior aesthetics further.
My challenge to everyone else is to get out there and check them out, should be hitting a lot near you very soon.

I seen about 200 this last weekend, they are ok. The interiors are much nicer overall. I do NOT like the rear end as it is horrible and ugly. The trunk button wont be an issue as you can only pop it when the car is not running.

I sat in one at work and am very impressed with its style. I like it. I just hope it has some good numbers to go with it and MOD POTENTIAL. 2011 GT500 FTW!

Test drove a 2010 GT today. Drives just like an 05-09 GT. interior is leaps and bounds above the 05-09. I have to say I just can't get past the rear end of the car. Nothing about it says mustang. and the new rear radio antanna looks like it came of a audi

I own a 2010 candy red metallic 6 coupe with pony package and I love it! It is so much improved over the 2006 that I had a couple of years ago. The lines of the body in the rear very much remind me of the late 60's early 70 styles. I don't mind the cup holders but I wish they would have put the extra electrical outlet below the dash rather than between the center vents. I have a Garmin and radar detector that are pains to hook up. I really like the Sirius free 6 month subscription. All the lights inside make it look like a disco at night but I like it. Mustangs are one of a kind!

on a side note it seems some ford dealers are selling these cars for (gasp) sticker~ and including additional mark downs and rebates! just FYI

i just saw one driving next to me on the highway yesterday. it was a v6 convertable. that rear end is fugly! i think if we could just get rid of the black plastic it might be ok, however i really liked the body lines form the side.....but i think somone already said the first thing that came to my mind was wow......body work is going to be a pain! its the way the bodylines meet.
The hood is very nice as well and accents the front bumper nicely. i think the hood and front bumper together was a good design choice......its like they started from the front and went back and by the time they got to the rear they just ran out of juice lol Wheel and tire package on this car was fugly too! lol
waiten for that 5.0!
