I got the Myfi in the mail a couple of days ago and I'm loving it. I wasn't getting a lot of reception in my room for awhile now and was complaining about it but then I moved the thing about a foot away from my monitor and I suddenly have perfect reception lol I haven't tried it in the car yet, but one of the managers at work had it installed to his car and he said it's perfect. Gotta try out the portable feature of it to give a complete review, but I recommend everyone to at least try this thing out sometime. You'll be impressed, no dumb commercials and tons of songs

i dont see the point of radio anymore. i can take 200mp3's and shove them onto a cd and listen to about 7 different styles(rap/r&B, rock, trance/techno, classic rock, punk, country, alternative) and itll only be the good songs i choose to put on the cd. plus being a CD-RW when it gets old or time for new songs i can just reburn it with a new list.
any music you have to pay for other than a concert is a waste. youre just putting money in the pockets of the record companies and the RIAA. money that never reaches the artist. only real money the see comes from concert revenues and merchandise(shirts, hats, etc). even bug bands like metallica or blink 182 might get 3% of their record sales to their pockets. which even when they sell 10 million copies at 15 bucks a pop(150mil) and their actuall pocket pay will be 4.5 mil(which is still alot) the other 145.5 mil goes straight to the company. sounds just grand doesnt it?

Yeah that was my argument against it too, but when you are given a $350 system for free and all you have to pay is 30 bucks for it (3 months of using it)... where's the loss? It looks cool, it's cheap, and I don't have to try downloading it off of someone.

So if you started a music career I shouldn't pay to listen to your music? Granted, I also download music because it's cheaper and I don't believe in paying 10 bucks and more for a CD with just 12-20 tracks of songs on it. I'll download the ones I want, etc etc just like everyone has done. I'm really just paying for the service. They only play songs everyone really enjoys, you can request songs, and if you don't like it.. well you can switch it over to one of the 119 channels instead of just that one. I could careless which bands get money out of this if any, I still think it's cool.
& it's 10 bucks a month O.o
you want expensive, how much do you pay for gas a month?

no if i started a music career you shouldnt buy my cd's. you should go to my concerts and mosh out. if i made music(which i do but not in a band type) i would do it cause it makes me feel good, not cause i can get 20000sq ft house, a escalade with 26" rims and hot fine ass bitches. like i said most bands get 90% of their money from concerts and merchandise.
but id prolly do it too if it was only 10 a month and the unit was a freebie.

^I can agree with that
It's also pretty nice, hearing new music I've never heard of before so I can write them down and download them later

If I started a band, hell yeah buy my cd. Even if I only got like 5%, that's still 5% for me.
On the other hand, I can't bring myself to pay for radio, and eclipsedude is right (but not about the band stuff. )
