OK, I am at this tech school when I first get my stang. Friend in class has a 2000 V-6 Slomaro, 5 speed, dual exhaust and cold air. My car was still stock. He asks if I want to run after class, I NEVER back down (unless the wife and/or kids are in the car). After class we head over to this stretch of road that is about 1/4 mile between 2 red lights. At the change he floors it, I had already turned OD off and dropped to 1st for manual shifting so I was ready. He has me by about 3 feet! I hit second and chirp the tire, he looks back and tries to push harder, but I was gaining on him. Then with no warning I blew past him in D at 90. When I spoke to him later on he said that he thought I had backed down, by the time he realized I had'nt, I was passing him and he could not catch back up. Yeah whatever!
Second tale:
Another classmate has a 94 civic with an Integra V-Tec, he wants to run. OK, we head up to peachtree Indusrtial, find a quiet strip and let go, he gets the passenger side window of his car even with the nose of my stang. It stayed that way for the whole race. Until I HAD to slow down to prevent becoming one with the boxtruck I was quickly approaching.
Third tale:
96-97 Blue Honda Accord...many changes, we were at a red light, he hears the sound of my exhaust (sounds like an old 5.0 at low boost and take off) and decides to run me. Bad decision Jr. Flip off OD drop to first and gun it and we are rolling side by side. He's desperrately trying to pass me so he won't rearend the car thats fast approaching in his lane. I hit D and stomp the Accl at 80 and hit passing gear and left his ass behind. At the next light he meekly pulls up to turn, nods his way by and hauls ass.
4th and last tale:
95 V-6 Mustang with 4 girls. My wife was 5 months preg with our 3rd child at the time. We are at the light and this chick starts ######## with me, revving up TRYING to catch a tire. It was just like the scene from TF&F where Vin Diesil tells old boy to smoke the Ferrari. My wife looks at her, then to me and says," Snoke that #####". We took off and the chick in the 95 was playing catchup. That race ended when we both noticed the GA State Patrol coming down the road the other way. She got stuck behind a truck and I used that truck to mask my speed.
I have more, including a few backing down after hearing the exhaust, but that would make this post WAY too long.

Yo E, nice car, don't care what folks say, the MX-6 is a cool car. Oh Yeah! That's because Ford OWNS Mazda <slaps forehead> j/k  Ford DOES own Mazda, but they did NOT at the time the MX-6 came out, so :mrgreen:
More street tales coming soon, have an interesting loss on my behalf involving a BMW 585I (don't laugh, it could happen to you too! :oops: )

By the way... Ford owns only 30% of MAZDA Motor Co.'s stocks. Nowhere near full ownership, just partial. Mazda is still a company of their own, which is influenced (not too greatly) by Ford, but is nowhere near being under their full control.

They just share the designs on some vehicles.. 
And yes, it was done even when my car was created... a Ford Probe IS a Mazda MX-6. Both the 4banger, and the V6 model. Everything on a Ford Probe is a Mazda built, except for the actual frame (body). That's from Ford
There are a few others.. Ranger, Explorer, Aesrostar.. I dunno who built who in those though... Although, I think the Aerostar is really an MPV |

Guy pulls up side me in a Honda Prelude, 9? model. He checks me, then pulls out from the light, I let him get bout 4 lengths then punch before he knows it, I'm passing him. Guy was shocked.
Yesterday: Guy in a V-6 TA (98 model) puls up, revs his engine wanting to race. I completely ignore him, until he takes off like a ####, sounding like ricer, I put the throttle down and he IMMEDIATELY backs off waving his hands like,"i give!" Wus!
What's with these people? Act like they wanna run, here the sound of my exhaust then back off like I have the plague or something! What a bunch of #######!

I did not mention any names, did I....let re-read what I wrote to make sure.............Nope! Was pretty sure I did'nt! Well your post about the list of future mods in the sig both pissed me off, and it made me think. Who REALLY cares bout future mods? So I changed it to something intended to offend STUPID people. Now, you wouldn't happen to be stupis, the stupid wonder, would you? I didn't think so. So, I will tell you like I told this certain #### over at RMR about being offended by the then name of my ride "rice Eater", if you are not a stupid person, then you should not be offended.
