Well, they're not exactly built to be speed demons you know. What is their competition an s-10 or a tundra maybe? And you know everything has potential. The fastest truck I've been in-excluding lightnings-was a lifted Tundra. The guy has it supercharged among other small things and ran a 13 at l.a.c.r. For those of you that don't know l.a.c.r. a 13 there is a very good time. Also, what's that truck chevy makes that is pretty fast, I don't think it's in production anymore and it's nowhere near the lightning I don't believe but it's just to show everything has potential...let me look it up really quickly

Oh yes it was the syclone...you guys heard of it? I believe it was turbo charged and had some other cool stuff. Anyone know if it's possible to swap a lightning engine/transmission into a ranger? Lighter smaller car should inevitably be faster...as if the lightnings aren't fast enough

And I've driven both a lightning with a few bolt on mods and a SRT10 and I must say..for seat of the pants enjoyment I'd take the SRT10..just because the sound of that V10 winding up is unlike anything else in the world...the lighting was faster..but man that V10 and 6 speed are just unreal in a truck.

The cyclone hasn't been around for a while..like mid 90's when they stopped production. They really weren't very fast and were basically light a ranger thunder bolt or whatever they were...I have a friend with a cyclone and it just doesn't impress me, looks or power. It was just a standard cab 2 wheel drive S10 with a little bigger engine

Hmmm your friend doesn't have a real syclone then. The original cyclone is a 4wd and it has quite a bit done to the motor. It was built for mostly road course style racing. It is proven that it will keep up with some of the highend performance cars in slolom(sp).

I can't even imagine a v-10 with 6 speed in a truck but man...I would love to drive an srt-10. How did it handle? Haha, that torque probably pinned you to the seat eh? From what I've read it said it had torque even if you were at 500 r.p.m.

I agree it's a 2.4 litre turbocharged isn't it? If your friends isn't turbo it shouldn't be real
