I didn't know Ford put such things on stock. They should reword it to say "good enough for stock performance mufflers". Not so sure about that low restriction statement.

They can jack up the price all they want now...
Saleen and Steeda have stopped making the 04 specialty vehicles so takeoffs are now almost non-existant for 99-04

you have to cut the exhaust to get it off unless you take the lca's off.

Probally me.
I'm gonna call up my Mustang Salvage yard tomorrow and see how they charge for a takeoff exhaust system.

Just watch Ebay and find a person who is selling their take-off's...way cheaper and easier. I paid 50 bucks for my Mach1 takeoff's...can't beat that at all...

Yeah, since the 05 came out people are getting a premium for take-offs. As for the "performance" stock mufflers, they are better than the one on the stock V6 exhaust, even one of them as far as I know. Since I broke down and am renting a garage at my apartments now, I can say they sound pretty nice, though subdued. If you can find a good deal on the takeoffs, it's still cheaper than buying something else in stainless.
Lowflyn, you got one hell of a deal on yours. The mach tips look so sweet!

and cutting them in half just saves you an oversized shipping charge. any competent muffler shop can put it all back together no problem. Come to think of it, most shops want to cut them as opposed to dropping the rear axle just a little bit.
