im getting new phones today or tomorrow and i wanted to know what is the best company in your opinion, any storys ans such. and horror companys i hsould avoid like the plague? thanks.

Had verizon for years and never a proble, great coverage, great phones (LG is my Fave) and good prices. I like it, and will probably never change.

verizon... if we ever have any billing issues (rare) they fix it asap, any phone problems we have they fix asap, no complaints, even in the middle of nowheres (where I live..) I get signal strong enough to make calls without static (tried both AT&T and sprint in my house, neither works..) I can't complain about verizon..

nextel is expensive for just having the walky talky feature...

i have verizon and i cant complain, they got the best service of anyone around here, a lot of my friends have nextels because of the two way stuff, but they cut out all the time.

I have a Nextel and it is great. In certain areas though, reception gets a little hazy but nothing major. I love being able to hit someone up quickly with the direct connect option.

There's no such thing.

Cellular service depends largely on where you live. I've lived in one city where ATT is the best coverage, but in another area, they're lousy.

Best thing is to ask friends/family in your local area. It all comes down to coverage, signal strength, and dead zones.

I've had Cingular (way back when they were Bellsouth) and they were terrible. The coverage stunk and they screwed up the billing repeatedly. After that I was with AT&T (both as Suncom and AT&T Wireless), they didn't mess anything up and had good coverage. I don't have anything negative to say about them. I switched to Verizon a few months back, and they've been good too. That's who I voted for.

i have ATT and i get 100% coverage EVERYWHERE at college.. even in basements of buildings and whatnot. however, when i go home i get mediocre coverage.

verizon is awesome, the best thing about it is i get service everywhere but at my girlfriends house (parents cant call me, lol)

Exactly. A one provider can be amazing in one place and suck in another. Like in my town att is the worst.

I have cingular since I was 16 and havent had any issues really. They always fixed my billing issues no ?'s asked ever. Also have great reception basically everywhere I go.

the people with verizon never have service down here. sprint is by far the best here.

cingular/ at&t are the same thing... since they merged they have the widest coverage... verizon comes in second, sprint third, and t mobile is 4th

Well, I have Cingular and I haven't noticed any difference in the reception since the merger...I have never gotten a good signal. I can be sitting in one place and have a fairly decent one then a second later in the same spot my call gets cut off...it's very annoying. As far as billing, yeah they screwed it up once but they did straigten that all out the next month. I can't vote for them though untill they "raise the bar" some more.

my buddy has verizon, and 75% of the time, he isnt able to pay the full amount of his bill, and he'll call them up, tell em whats up, and theyll take what he can give, and just tack it onto his next bill, and he eventually pays the uber bill off, they dont give him any hassles or anything about it

cingular

great service here in Indiana. and the bills are great no probs at all. also when i went from Fishers Indiana to NYC and Sussex Co. NJ i had service the while way, never lost it, NEVER! Nextel lost it every other mile. but i like nextel also, just for the 2 ways, we use them at the PD and FD, and work good in the city, sucks out inthe country.

I have verizon and have for years. Decent service. They need some more towers here in the south, but overall I can't complain. Since I have their North east plan and live in louisiana and am still considered in my local area, I can't complain. Never knew that Louisiana was in the north east...but what do I know. lol.

And The LG7000(?) I think is what I have...killer phone. and it takes decent pics for a phone.

Hrm...I have Cellular South...you've prolly never heard of it lol. I pay 50 bucks a month, get 500 minutes, nights and weekends starting at 7, and unlimited texts. Not too bad IMO, I just can't leave the state or call out of the state.
