Anyone going to give it a try. I'm going to run it on my laptop and see how that goes. It has to be better than Vista on my laptop.
Can't wait for the full version to come out later this year.

I'll probably be buying a new laptop or building a new desktop later this year, so I'll probably give it a shot then depending on the reviews I see of it. So far I hear it is pretty good.

Just got done installing it. It blows Vista away. It's going on all my computers now so I can take advantage of the network settings. |

Yea, I've been using it since build 7048. It's pretty badass. I'm glad I never 'upgraded' to Vista
Seeing the improvements with each build has been pretty sweet

So how does this work... it's basically a free trial for now while it's BETA, right?
I have Vista right now, can I download and install Windows 7 for free right now and if I decide to go back to Vista will I be able to?

any programs that work with Vista should work with 7 .
I haven't run into any problems with programs so far.

I have it installed on a separate hard drive, so I don't know what will happen if you install it over Vista or XP .
My guess would be that you would have to.

probably try it out today, Do any of these versions format and install 7 or just on top of XP/Vista? I had so many issues when I tried vista I went back to XP and now I have driver issues out the ass (don't feel like messing with them right now)

So those of you using winders 7....what are your takes up to now? I'm thinking about actually buying a copy of windows for a change when this gets released in Q4 of this year.

I'm sold !!!!!!! Been using it at work. all programs are running fine Except Symantec 10.5 Corporate it will run and update from the parent svr It just complains about one driver

7201 didn't play nice with my Asus Xonar driver, but that's the only real issue I've heard about it. I went back to 7137 so I could use my sound card
Again, if you aren't running an Asus Xonar, 7201 will work fine
p.s.- When you download something like this, ALWAYS check the md5 hash

I tried installing it on my computer which is about 7 or 8 years old now and it would not install. It would get part way through, start copying files...and then go on a lunch break. Just an FYI for ya.

Well my cpu is getting old, but when I bought it 4 1/2 years ago i had 3GB(upgraded it) of ddr3200 ram 250gb and 3.2 H/T procesor (don't remember model number) so my computer is just now becoming non-relevant and just now not beginning to compete with new release computers. I'm starting to want another. (Mac with different boot partitions for XP, Winders 7, ubuntu)

Oh, mine has plenty of ram and HD space and all of that...but the drivers for all the internals weren't happy or something. No idea what as the install just stopped and hung up.

i played with the Beta, absolute joke imo. it's no different then vista accpet a few additions that could easily be added to Vista. now that Vista has gotten most issues resolved im loving it. 7 is just a big marketing scam if you ask me, then again what isn't these days!

I wish they had the full version instead of just the upgrade available in that offer. I'll wait and just buy a laptop/desktop with 7 on it.
