Ok ever since ive put 18"s on my v6 (which had I believe 15"s) its doesn't handle very good at all, like it sucks big time, is there anything extra I shouldve installed or done when getting them? I know nothing when it comes to suspension. if I requries alot, I wouldn't mind lowering it about 1", but i don't know how or what I need to do, Thanks for the help ahead of time. Matt

I've never really heard about this happening...but I dunno man. Suspension never hurts. And a small drop wouldn't hurt either.

sounds more like a tire issue than a rim issue. The larger the diameter rim the lower the side wall and more rough ride if you keep the same tire height. Ultra low profile tires might handle great but they suck ass for comfort of ride!!!

agreed... its just the price you pay to have your car look nice. Gotta remember, a mustang was never meant to ride like a lincoln. The v6 theoretically should ride the best in stock form as far as comfort goes, but as soon as you do things that put it closer to the performance models, the more its gonna drive like the performance models.

All Hi-performance cars ride rough unless on smooth roads. The only exception is Car with active suspension that have computer controlled suspension and that is found only in very high dollar exotic cars

and 87-88 Turbo Coupes
basically, if you want the car to handle good, you have to suffer with a rough ride, if you want it to ride good, you have to suffer with crappy handling...theres no real way around it

yes the smaller the tire sidewall the more you feel the bumps. since you have to run a lower tire on 18's there is no way out.

What do you have as far as suspension goes. Yes the factory suspension does however suck for our cars, but there is always room for improvement.
Try Maximum Motorsports they make different kits for a variety of levels. From just springs and shocks to the advanced Panhard Bar, Torque Arm setup. It will also depend on what your plans are for the car.

The problem with any upgrades in suspension will ultimately make the car ride harsher than it already is. my advice is if you dont want the ride to get worse get some Ford Racing "B" springs. They will lower your car approx 1.2" The ride is close to a Bullitt ride.

with a fox chassis you pay for performance with harshness.... you want bigger rims that will handle better you pay for it with a bad ride.... its not that bad but noticable, the tire choice is key of course.

with a 1.2 drop cc plates are not really needed, but with a wide tire if you start to see wearing on the inside edge you may need a set to solve it (stock specs arnt the best for tire wear and long life) you do have to pay the price of inside edge tire wear a bit if you want em set up for better handleing alignment wise.

C springs are cheap and good. That's what I'm running. It is a fair amount rougher ride than stock but it handles WAY better.
