My Co worker has a 98 2.0 Jetta. I think a whoppin 115 hp. He is getting a neuspeed supercharger. I told hime before he just slapps it on, he should know the max boost he should run, so he just doesn't blow the motor. Does anybody know what (safe) boost level he should run? He at least it will be fun to see how fast he does at lacr. Good or Bad, Sorry for posting this in the Lounge.

I couldn't tell ya, but if you are really interested, joining up and posting on some Jetta forums wouldn't hurt.

I know the most I could run on my car is 8 psi. But I would run 6 unless I had an aftercooler.

7-9 # is usually safe for most, isn't neuspeed a centrifugal SC?
If so then those figures are probably way safe and the base kit
will be set safe for the stock engine... He needs a good P&P to
go with that and the stock cam will probably work well with the SC.
Exhaust improvements always help too. Inj's should come with the kit.

8 PSI should be no problem for it
.. ... ... won't make it much faster though he can probably expect low 15s/high 14s if he's a manual trans

Ya he is 115hp stock. He prolly won't even see 200 hp. (pathedic) I would rather buy a $2000 five oh, then spend $2200 on a supercharger and not even hit 175 hp.

lol omg
but stock motor he should only do 7-8psi. thats prolly what the kit will produce anyways, you gotta get different sc pulleys if you want to upp the boost. but for now with stock internals and prolly stock fuel system 7-8psi is fine. and no he wont even see 200hp, maybe 170whp if hes lucky.
