took me about an hour or so to do this, luckily i had an old fender so i used that to cut out filler pieces with the same contour as the door. The filler pieces are only tacked on right now. I need to finish welding around the edges, fill in the low spots w/ a little filler, and repeat on the other side. BTW, the black spots may look like holes, but they are just paint from the old fender.

you dont have to be really good (which i'm not), you just have to be willing to take your time, do it the correct way, and go back and fix your mistakes when you make them. it took me 4 tries to get the filler plate for the first hole a good size - and i had to do lots of trimming on the 4th, but now that i figured out a good method of making a template, tracing it out, and then cutting it, i am good to go.

Please be sure to put a manual release somewhere... I hate having to sit at a redlight directing traffic cuz some ricer forgot to put a manual release on his car and locks the keys in his car after getting out to check his loose battery connection at freaking 7:45 on a weekday morning on a major university campus. </rant>
