Does anybody know what a good front brake upgrade kit is for 2001 GT? I don't want to spend $1000 plus for it either. Like a bullitt or cobra upgrade. I think I can get them for $400 or so. Thanks!

www.speedconcepts.net offers a bullit brake upgrade (same as the cobra brakes for all intents and purposes) for 400~ or so with rotors and lines, but the only downfall is that the rotors wont be powdercoated, i would only get slotted anyway but MAKE SURE HTEY HAVE A COATING if you go cheap here... they will rust and look like POS in no time... so pay the difference for a really good coat of protection on the rotors.
i got mine from diskbrakesrus.com as brent mentioned adn htey are great though, but expect 550 + 50 (powdercoating on rotors) + 50 (slotted or slotted and drilled rotors)

I was going to do the Cobra brakes with the Hawk pads at all four corners.
Have the rotors cryodipped for longer life. And also steel braided brake lines as well.

if you are on speedconcepts.net buy the ones that look like the bullits with the white running horse, get the slotted only rotors coated for protection (make sure they wont rust!) and then get oem pads with stainless steel lines, heck upgrade the pads if you wish.... thats about 400-450 bucks
from diskbrakesrus.com get the ones that are powdercoated with the running horse, they offer TONS of colors lol
and make sure you get the rotors powdercoated (it sucks at first YOU MUST GO VERY SLOW if they get to hot it will not come off as clean but regardless it will come off nice with out having rust issues just the outer edge wont be as clean if you dont go slow and take your time eating it up, the eating it off phase takes two days of normal driving~ but dont be scared if you come to a stop at first and the brake lockes up lol mine did so try not to come to to many stops for a couple miles lol
pm me for specific information
and a MAJOR FYI dont DARE touch the brake caliper with brake fluid... my driver side horse's tail is now smeared due to its not powdercoat, its just paint and i ran over it with brake fluid....
use a rubber hose to bleed the lines so the fluid is not near the claiper, its well worth the trip to autozone to buy a little vac line to fit over the bleeder!

Good brake upgrade for a GT? Sure, just read my mods list, lol. I have cobra brakes on all 4 corners, but normally people don't go that far, the reason I did is because I got a Cobra IRS rear end, and the brakes came with it. My drilled and slotted rotors are cheap, not powder coated, and rusted over big time, but actually it doesn't look so bad since its rusted over, it looked a lot worse when it first started to rust. LOL I do sort of wish I had paid more and gotten something with a coating, I really wanted the Slotted only type, but these were actually as cheap as I could get.
