Rear Brakes (for a 95) problem

Fellas, I'm new to the Mustang Evolution forum as well as to the whole mustang world . . . I've done a bunch of mods including CAI, true dual exahast, performance chip and headers as well as sway bars. However it's the rear brakes that are giving me serious problems. Now i've done rear brakes before but these stangs are a challange. I've gotten to the step where you have to turn the piston until it seats fully but i've turned the darn thing about 50 times and have gotton no where! any tips? Are there any sites that give good instructions for stangs? Thanks in advance. P.S. its a 95 v6 3.8liter

if you are having trouble getting the piston back into the caliper you need a little tool thats square to twice a screw like thing on the brake to allow it to slide back in, its not a big deal just need the right tool to do so.

thanks spectorV, however i already have the piston turner and i've been turning the thing for a good hour! Yet the piston hasn't moved inward at all! any thoughts |

hummmm... so the piston is not going all the way in, just making sure, try a hammer.... rubber mallet pref.

Whack it all day long and it'll do nothing for you.
If you turn the piston too far out it comes apart and will not engage the threads to screw back in. You need a caliper turning tool that will both push in and turn the piston. Rent Autozone's caliper turner, it has a plate that'll push in as you turn the piston and reengage the threads.
Been there, done that on my 96.

thanks Ponycarman i bought a piston turning and let me tell u its a bitch to push it in i turned it for like an hour and no results is there something wrong with the piston? |

no, it's just almost impossible to push it in far enough to engage by hand. The Autozone tool uses a jackscrew and plate to force the piston in while you are turning the piston.
It's free to use the tool, you do have to leave a deposit that is returned when you bring the tool back.
