I believe there are some pretty common symptoms, but the real stand out way to know is you pee a lot which causes you to drink a lot, and after eating a meal with sugar and/or carbs, you get incredibly tired. this is all due to insulin not being able to break down sugars in your blood stream so your body pees them out. at least, i think thats the case.
the only way to tell for sure is to check your blood sugar levels before and a few times after eating so you can monitor your blood sugar levels for irregularities.

well, a piss test will tell you too. A diabetic will almost always have easily detectable amounts of sugar in their urine. Bodies aren't built to piss out energy, so that's how you know there's a problem for sure.

I've been dealing with diabetes Type II for 6 years not everyone has the same signs mine started with blurr vision,bright yellow piss and thirst.you can go years without type II being detected Type II affects you gradually When I finally got tested my blood sugar was 385 normal is between 70 and 125 Get it checked out don't ignore the sighs like I did

Best way to know if you have type II = are you overweight? If so, then probably
When I weighed 320lbs my doc told me I was borderline diabetic. "Insulin resistance" is what he called it. He said I needed to lose weight or I would have full blown type II within a year.
I lost 100lbs and it went away

I was diagnosed with type I Diabetes at the age of 4. My parents noticed the usual symptoms such as intense thirst, frequent urination, very yellow urine, etc. What I noticed was nausea and for some reason my feet felt like they were hotter than hell. Exhaustion is also another sign. Go to a Wal-greens or CVS and pick up some ketone strips, they're pretty cheap. If you are passing anything more than a normal ketone level go straight to the hospital. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. My sister lost her life because of diabetes, it's no joke.

I can see how that is important. I forget working in Vegas that not everyone has decent insurance. I work for one of the major hotels and my insurance is pretty nice and covers most everything.

Last year during football i weighed 135 pounds i now way like 150 but i look the exact same i'm not overweight and i'm not a stick. I have always pissed alot i think i get it from my dad. I drink alot but mainly cuz when i have a cigerette i need something to drink because my mouth gets dry. what do i get from like wal-mart or something to test this without haveing to go to the doctor and waste money? |

you can probably pick up one of those blood sugar tester things at a pharmacy or walmart. not sure on the price though.

Do you have violent mood swings when you get a little hungry? I had a friend who was the nicest girl in the world most of the time, but if she got slightly hungry she was the biggest bitch you could imagine. One summer she passed out from her insulin going nuts and found out she had Type I. Ever since she gained control of her insulin, she was always really nice.

oh also, i wouldnt try this one (unless desperate), but its still interesting... if i recall correclty, back in the day doctor's used to smell and taste the urine to diagnose diabetes. it smells/tastes sweet from all the sugar.

It may not have been the hunger, she may have had low blood suger. That would explain why she was hungry, her blood sugar was low. I know that if my blood sugar drops suddenly and I haven't realized it yet I am a total dick. I actually had an issue at work where my blood sugar dropped and I basically told a customer to go fuck himself and HR got involved. I barely kept my job, luckily the customer was a dick to my boss too. Low blood sugar causes your body to seek alternative sources of sugars or nutrients and it starts by converting brain cells among other things. Makes you a little crazy.
