92 four cylinder problem

I have a 92 four cylinder that has the coil packs and 8 plugs and wires. It has a new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new o2 sensor, new iac, tps, ignition control moduel, and new cats. When you start the car, it will idle ok, but when you try to give it gas it gets to about 2500 to 3000 rpms and falls on its face. If you try to put it in drive and go, it will not go over 5 mph and then will die. I have noticed a pretty strong gas odor, and am wondering if the injectors, or fpr would cause this problem. I have another fuel rail with injectors to put on it with a fpr, but dont want to go through this unless this is going to most likely be my problem. Does anyone have any ideas? The only other thing i can think of is maybe the crank positioning sensor, but would think that if it was a sensor, then my check engine light would be on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you think its the fuel pressure regulator, you can try pulling the vacume line off of it, and seeing it it smells like gas, if it does, the diaphram is shot, and its dumping fuel into your intake manifold
also, i you said you replaced the ignition control module, what brand part did you replace it with?

Are you sure your check engine light works? You've replaced a lot of parts I'd hate for you to not be able to find the problem. It could possibly be something as simple as a vacuum leak. Those aren't quite the symptoms of a vacuum leak but hey, weird crazy stuff happens. When I had a similar problem I needed to change the o2 sensors, but you've already done that.

You have replaced so many parts the only thing left seem to be the fuel injectors or the FPR. If its not one of those and not the Crank sensor then I dont know what to tell you. Possibly a faulty ecu?

It sounds like those could possibly be the case but if not hopefully all your efforts aren't in vain and you eventually find the problem. Just out of curiosity has anyone here ever had a weak alternator? I don't think it's the case in this scenario because that wouldn't explain the gas odor, but just curious if it has any of the same effects at all.

I had a weak alternator...It made my radio and lights flicker until it finally died and left me stranded...

Ok here is my take The car starts so it is getting both ignition and gas this is apparent till around 2500-3000 rpm inpark. When you put it in drive it stalls out a 5 mph
There could be a problem with the computer. The computer controls gas and ignition. I would check the injectors. But your symptom is more of a MAF not working right. MY wife's Mazda did that. it would Idle fine but when you get to about 15 mph it would die. This is a very typical problem with early cars with MAF's
