I will be working with Prototype cars and going through them to make sure it is decently easy for the techs to work on. Also, if there are sme problems occuring with a new car, I will get to take a look and see if it would be necessary to do a recall and then show the engineers what should be changed on the future cars.
Thanks man, I've been working my ass off trying to get to this point. I couldn't believe they called me to interview. Their head quarters is in Fountain Valley right off the 405. I think the cross street is Brookhurst.

Yea, it's really close which is nice especially since gas has shot up 30 cents a gallon over the past week, haha. Let's definately do something, we live close enough. Just a little more than college.

got the commuter car - still waiting on getting something with more power haha. i think im going to hold off until im 25 or so when insurance will be cheaper.
plus, my county makes us pay 5% of the car's value as taxes every 18 months or something like that. ridiculous.

That is more realistic possibilty haha, probably one that I will end up taking.
My first day is Monday actually...I can't wait.
The commuter car is clutch, once you have something reliable you can get a toy to play with and not have to worry if it's on jackstands waiting for parts. I might also have to wait until im 25 for insurance reasons as well. Not to mention regisration, taxes, and title are insane in California. The amount you pay for registration depends on how much your vehicle is worth. My roommates truck is worth around $14,000 and he just paid almost $300 to register it.

Actually I've just turned 25, I was a ford tech until I was 22, went back to school to try and get into a corporate automotive company..
And it worked
I would still be a ford tech but my shop closed down
You never know - You can get where you want if you try for it - Scott moved out here looking for a corporate job also.. Took a while thanks to the economy but looks like he found a good job..

So I got a couple days under my belt now and I love the new job. I already got to play with a lot of cool things and there is definately more to come. As soon as the economy gets better I will be moving up in the company so I'm really excited about that.

I don't wanna be a dick or anything but Hyundai is a North Korean auto maker and so their profits go to the government. We all know that North Korea is a communist country that is building nukes. So thanks for being a communist terrorist.
But really Congrats the job! It's nice to hear not everyone is getting effed over. Good luck with being a communist, and a terrorist

Well, not to be a dick but you got the wrong country. They are a South Korean sooo I'm not a communist terrorist and don't plan on using any nukes. My boss just got back from the main head quarters so im 100% sure you are wrong. Thanks for the congrats though and I was surprised they called and made an offer.

I was just trying to bust your chops and get a laugh. I was pretty sure though they were a N.K. company I thought I read it somewhere, but I am wrong.
It's good to hear that your with a company that has plans for it's future (the new Genesis).

yup thats good news for here in Indy cause he owns most of the dealerships here. (he is based out of indy) and only the H2 H3 are going to be sold off, the Real H1 (army and whatnot) are still owned by a company here in northern Indiana.

Sorry man, I was just in a pissed off mood and irritated about something and took it literally...my fault, but I'm done PMS'ing and i got a good laugh out of everything.
Hummer is gone and so is Saturn. There was a Saturn dealership a few blocks away from me and they already took all their cars to auction and shut the doors. It wasn't because of the dealership failing or so they say.

GM probably did them the same way they did Abercrombie in Hartselle, AL. See, GM dealers have contracts with GM for cars and parts and such, so if GM closes down a dealership they are liable for all the cars on their lot, all their spare parts, all the GM specialty tools, the buildings AND the land the lot is on. They have to buy all that back to shut a dealership down. The loophole is that if the business fails on its own, they are off the hook for all that.
Abercrombie in hartselle is(was) the oldest GM dealership in Alabama, something like ~60 years in business. GM decided that the higher volume, lower customer service dealerships were the ones they wanted to keep so instead of closing down Abercrombie they just stopped delivering parts to them, and refused to finance any cars they sold through GMAC, hoping they could force them out of business that way instead of having to honor their contract.
So yeah, if the saturn dealership had to auction off its cars, but insists it wasn't the dealership failing, they probably just got equally reamed by the suits up in GM corporate that don't care about anything but money (explain that, given what happened to the company)
