I have an sct tunner and trying to get a dyno tune but the dyno places i found don't work with sct mainly because the programing on the sct tunners keeps a wide open fuel plane instead of progressive. what should i do? should i switch tunner they all recommended a diablo or snyper. The problem is i bought and vin locked the tuner to my car. I don't really have the money to buy another one. Is it also possible to revers the lock? any advice would be very much appreciated thanx

its more about getting the tune right rather than what tuner you use, so if you know a shop will do a really good job then you can use what ever they like to use

Here's my question -what about using a tuner-for those of us who are still normally aspirated -to improve performance-across the board-without going to 91+ octane??

i don't know anything about tuners... but can't you just use one and have it tuned to use normal regular fuel on your n/a engine? i don't think you have to use 91+, i think thats just a better option you have when going with the tuner...(like you can have it tuned to actually use the 91 since otherwise it won't do anything spectacular)

you don't really need to have forced induction to use a tuner. The tune i programmed into my stang is for a bunch of mods that need tuning through a programmer such as cai,lt headers, non catted, and of course to run on 91 octane.

Yea, there are plenty of areas of concern that need tuning attention on naturally aspirated engines. I would look into a turner if your hoping to get the most out of your bolt-ons. You can make more power on a stock engine with a good tune on most vehicles.

Thanks for setting the record straight-I am really trying to keep from the 91+ octane-just trying to get the most bang-for-the-buck-and not as expensive at the pump..
