My new hard drive is toast

Just at a month and the new one I bought just took a dump on me. 
So I've spent the morning loading Windows 7 on a cheap one to get me by until I can RMA it.

I tried loading 7 and it would just hang up right after copying files. It sucked cause I wanted to check it out. Then, the revert back did not work and I ended up stuck with the windows 7 boot loader. Had to finally re-ghost my system...but that worked out as I was able to update my base ghost image with some new software I found and get it up to date with updates and such.

Sounds alot like that Seagate drive I had a while back that took a crap on me a few weeks after I bought it. With the only unbacked up copy of all my important stuff on it.

Seagate's are notoriously unreliable. Avoid at all costs.

I dunno, I've got 2 500gb seagate barracuda hdds that I've had for almost 4 years, never had any trouble with them

I've always ran Western Digital drives, but the price was right on a pair of those Seagate's. The sad thing was, I never set up the mirror. So when the drive died, I had never set it up to make backups. . I haven't had any trouble out of either one, since.
