Can you use a rotary cutoff wheel ? or will it heat it up too much?

i cut mine with a cut off wheel, they dont get very off, if you think they are just cut a bit and let em cool.

It will work but I would not cut springs really. Just go and get a set that are made to be lowered. You might run into problems done the road so that is not the best way to do it.

i belive he is gonna cut c-spings. c-springs have whats called a dead coil, this coil is made to be cut without changing the spring rate

I used my table saw with a metal cut off wheel. Took about 20 seconds each and then a dump into a bucket of water.

I was worried if the heat from a chop saw blade would screw up the spring.

I ended up not cutting at all at least for now.
