well, i told myself id wait till next week to do it, but i got bored and decided to take off the bumper to see what i had to do, which turned into going to home depot and getting the brackets, which turned into mounting it, which turned into cutting the bumper and turned into putting everything on but the piping. it was alot easier than most people make the FMIC out to be. i started at 7 and at 10 me and my buddy were finished with the FMIC mock up, and decided to tackle piping tomorrow(gotta wait for my freinds dad to come down and weld some shit).
the FMIC. core measures 24x12x3. inlet/outlet is 3" diameter.
5 feet of 2.5" Mild Steel pipe, and 3 2.5" U-bends with a 6" radius.
here it is with the bumper off and the FMIC on.
another shot. gotta love the home depot bracket strip things.
the fmic doesnt move at all and i can sit on it without it moving. those brackets work perfect, that things not going anywhere.
the bumper test fitted. my buddy is trying to pop out a bolt whos head broke off that he overtightened, so thats why that side of the IC is hanging lower. i didnt realize this till after the pic.
another shot. yes i know its off, thats cause he broke it. i put another bolt in and all is fine now.
the peuney side mount. its amazing air moves through it at all. it can only flow around 200cfm, and on a turbo thats flowing 550cfm, you do the math. the fmic flows 800cfm, and has a .2psi drop at 15psi.

haha corey thats what i think too when i see it. its like a trout or something.
theres a guy who had the front like mine, but did a huge IC, and cut out another 4" on the front mouth. if mine looks like a cod, his was straight up a largemouth bass. here i found a pic.
thats just too much. but then again when youre running a FP3065 at 30psi with nitrous, i guess it would help.

alrighty finished this tonight. last night got the pipes mocked up and fitted with the bumper on. had to do a little trimming on the side air vents to clear the pipe, like 1/2 inch at most. and then realized that the stock fog lights were still able to be implemented, here i was hoping to not have to get rid of them, then i realized that they wouldnt clear the pipe, then got the pipe on and they slid right over.
went to my neighbors shop and he welded while i ground the rest off. he showed me some of the basics of welding which was pretty sweet.
heres more pics.
the front bumper support trimmed and fitted.
the piping
the FMIC to Upper IC piping Pipe(basically where the stock side mount used to go).
pipe from the J-Pipe(coming off the turbo) to the FMIC.
the finished result.
then the test drive. has a bit more of a growl at the low rpm, and a wee bit more torque down there. from a 3rd gear pull, i started at 2500 and hit full boost by 3500, and pulled hard to 7k. i had richened out the safc just in case , but it started to rain after my first pull, so i couldnt do any tuning as i had hoped for.
enjoy the fruits of my labor fellas.
