I can fix your Red Ring of Death
Prices for a RROD fix are $30.00 (+ 3% if Paypal)
You pay to have Xbox 360 shipped to me. I'll ship it back within the $30.00.
I can also add new cooling fans and paint the cases if you like. PM me for details and pricing.
If you have a buddy with a bad XBox 360 get it from them!! My buddy gave me his and it cost me very little to get it fixed!
Also, forgot to say! If you have a 20GB Harddrive for the Xbox I can upgrade it to be any GB size that comes in a 2.5" Sata HD

Do the Xbox 360 Elites get that ring too? or is it just on the earlier models?

A friend of mine told me today that he fixed his RROD by wrapping the xbox in a towel and causing it to overheat and reset itself...apparently it works |

If you get an older Elite, of course it's going to get the RRoD. However, if you get any new xbox with the Falcon chipset, it's doubtful you'll have any problems out of it.

My wife got it for me for christmas 07' No one had them in stock except circuit city and it was 1 of 2.

Temp fix - all that does is help somewhat and temporarily re-salter the connections on the CPU and GPU b/w the heat sinks.
If I may say, I think the Falcon chipsets have eliminated the RROD but only very recent models have the Falcons

My buddy was one of the few that brought the Xbox 360 home on the release date. He was also one of the first ones to report the RROD. He was pissed.

I think I got one of the first Elites Since they wherent released untill 07 and no one had them yet right before christmas. funny thing is the $480 microsoft set the price at but she paid 600 at circuit city.

I've had an xbox go in for the drive dropping spinning disks on the tray (sounded really bad) than a friends xbox went bad and i happen to have this one as a second one (after i got it fixed i got a halo edition one since i had the halo edition original xbox) and some how it broke when he used it (wasn't his fault, i know he takes care of stuff otherwise i wouldn't have lent it to him) and i think it was the drive again. i haven't had a problem with my halo edition cept for the fact that if i fast forward a movie and than start making off the speed its ff'ing at it will go from 8 to 4 to rw 2... makes no since... the normal one i got does 8, 4, 2, play... but some how this skips it... but no red rings for me...

that's a good price, however if mine dies again (its not covered by mshaft this time) I'll be getting a new one which has HDMI, I've had it since launch so its definitely gotten its usage

i was a late adopter - my xbox is one of the newer ones... never had any problems with it.
my ps2 on the other hands... its been acting up. its very inconsistent with reading/detecting dvds/games. works less consistent than my NES.

got me my halo edition. worked fine since i bought it in nov 07. bought the cooling fan kit thou since the first day i had it.

I had a launch day pro system up until about 8-9 months ago. I had the extra pocket change, so I upgraded to the elite. Haven't had time to play it much since work has taken all of my time, but I do get a few hours of UFC in a week.

If you aren't afraid to tear it open you can manually adjust the laser pickup inside it. I looked up a how to guide online and it worked flawlessly. Alternatively, try changing its orientation, if its sitting flat, turn it up on its side. That got mine to start reading again when it first started giving me trouble. |
